I doubt you will change their opinion. After all, they have already seen the movie.
You're probably right.

LOL at Whatsittoya getting intro information from Twitter guy.

What are you talking about?

Basically. I disagree with him, though. It adds mystery to the plot rather than awareness.

But if it's irrelevant to the main plot than I AGREE with him. That wasted time could've been spent more wisely if he's right.

How do you know it's irrelevant to the plot?

Don't be like that. You should see the movie when you were planning on seeing it instead of waiting on what others have to say.

You want him to waste money on a movie that would potentially let him down. That's a big nope to me. I'm gonna read reviews and then judge if I'll see it or not. If you're apprehensive, don't take a shot in the dark.

That's basically what that guy on twitter was saying. I hope it's not.

Yup, because it's a movie he's already looking forward too and he should go into it not caring what critics have to say, giving it a chance on his own.

...and? He may have seen it. They've been showing multiple screenings to certain people. Is it hilarious to trust someone that May or may not have seen the movie?

But it is relevant to the plot.

They're using the time machine to make sure the formula doesn't get lost.

It's kinda hilarious.

This is probably a good time to remind people who've read the novelization to either use a spoiler tag or post in the other thread. Just in case. :P
Oh yeah, there are people who've read the book. :D

I can see the time travel plot somewhat working right. It's somewhat relevant as it's about SpongeBob and Plankton trying to prevent the formula from disappearing in the first place. It's a shame that we already know who took it though, I must say

Still don't see how that's hilarious. What's really hilarious is your extreme optimism.

We knew that Plankton took the formula in the first movie, though. Spongebob and Patrick didn't realize until they met Dennis.

Yeah. I guess that's pretty laughable.

Oh okay. Case solves. But you should put spoiler tags on that post there :D

Oops.

Be positive, that's the way to live! It's how you get up once you've fallen down the stairs! ;)

Positivity doesn't help you once you've fallen down the stairs...LifeAlert does.

But in all seriousness, there's a huge chance of being let down if you're expectations are sky-high.

Basically, and this is the point I was trying to make when I posted his review, the idea that the time machine etc takes away from the main plot is all backwards. The time machine IS part of the main plot; it's the on-land stuff that is plopped on top of that. That's the way it came across in the novel, at least. Without giving spoilers, there's a point where it could potentially have come to a close if it was a 1hr TV movie or something. Even without any of the CG or superhero stuff it would still be an interesting story. But there's a twist, and that's when they have to go on land.

Paramount describes the story as SpongeBob and the gang's epic journey to the surface to fight a pirate as superheroes.

I would describe the story as ...
... SpongeBob and Plankton's journey from adversaries to teammates and their struggle to save Bikini Bottom. Then they fight a pirate.
