Second trailer released!

I have always been worried about the Chipmunk track record of the writers, but my hope is that with Tibbitt and Hillenburg involved with the writing process the worst of those kinds of dumb jokes will have been quelled. This movie has people who care about the franchise overseeing the process. The Chipmunks, not so much.

Well, the first movie did have a few scenes out of water, and they were brilliant.

Now, if the second movie will keep the outside scenes as the grand finale and make them more intense instead of focusing on the comic relief, we got something here.

Unfortunately, based on the trailer, I think it's really gonna be more 50 underwater/50 above.

I will die of happiness if Carlos Alasraqui has any part in this movie :scooter:

This is the split second before the huge soap bubble explosion that chases Burger Beard. it all comes from SpongeBob's mouth, or pores, or something. This shows that The Invincibubble has more powers than just catching cannonballs in bubbles.

Here's the donut shop again. I love seeing all the broken buildings and the barbed wire is excellent. I see SpongeBob in the bubble, I love that he is floating in a bubble again, I don't see Plankton with him, but there is room for him to be implied next to him which I assume is the case.

I'm in love with all the backgrounds in this movie. This one is absolutely amazing. It is also extremely powerful that all of Bikini Bottom cares enough and is following thew gang to get the formula back. I can only imagine the dramatic buildup to that.

Last but not least, here's a cool SpongeBob pose:

The fact that I remember stuff in the trailer from pictures of the Savannah filming makes me feel like a special snowflake. Butter gun, cannonballs etc. Remember they had a green screen set up in a couple of places? Outside the Freezy Cream shop and in the middle of the road outside the World of Coral museum? You can see how they used the green screens to make it look as though Savannah (Salty Shoals) is right on the beach. In the last picture Grubby posted, for example, there's open blue sky at the end of the road but in real life it's more buildings.

PS: I bet the butter gun is Burger Beard's weapon against Mr. Krabs since it squirts melted butter.

I wonder what part of the movie this will be.

The bystanders seem to be looking quite high up - higher than they would be looking if one or more of the characters had landed on the cart in their normal, little form, unless they were stacked on top of each other - so maybe this is from the part where they are superheroes. Also, this scene takes place right outside the museum, opposite Leopold's and the theater, so we know the characters are in this area as superheroes at some point.

Here's a better shot of the excellent "beach town" editing
It is a great feeling to be able to look at Salty Shoals and see all the buildings we saw being painted. I am guessing this is a taste of what it must feel like to make a movie, watching your creations as they go from ideas to a reality. It feels like I know the town and we've barely seen any in the trailers. I love watching clips from production and then matching them with the actual scenes, its just amazing. This subforum is filled with amazing details and notes from production, and after this movie is released, it will be the best archive for the movie on the whole internet.

I predict when the cannonbubbles are popping, a few start landing on his nut cart.

In the first trailer it was implied that the Krusty Krab was braced for an attack/theft, but in the second trailer they discover the formula is missing when everything looks normal (aka not a war zone yet).

So does that mean the condiment war happens after the recipe has already been stolen? What is the reason for the war if that is the case?

Maybe that's where the time machine comes into play. ;)

Wow... this looks amazing! I think I'll actually see it in cinemas this time instead of DVD or rental, it just seems too good to miss out on! And that fourth-wall joke though. xD

Well... (minor spoiler alert)
We know the condiment war happens at the beginning of the movie. Maybe before the war, the Krusty Krab is filled with customers until the war shocks the bottomites who just want a Krabby Patty.

After the war, little ole Plankypoo gets taped and is arrested, judging from Mr. Krabs happy face when he shows the wanted poster.

Then the Krabby Patty Meat and Formula gets stolen from Burger Beard and Bikini Bottom goes all Max Max.

Just my theory. :)

Actually, I think the taped up Plankton is more likely to be after the formula is stolen. They probably suspect him and are trying to torture him with SpongeBob's voice until he confesses. :P SpongeBob might end up being the only one who believes he's innocent, which might end up leading to the bonding between them that we saw.
