205b. MermaidPants

Do I like this episode more than it's sister? ...Hmm, hard to say, but in short I thought it was great. The introduction of Captain Tightwad and Doctor Negative were what really enhanced it and kept it from becoming a distant memory. I have a bit of a weakness for Villainous Squidward, you see. :shifty: Anyway, I could also call it interesting, because who would've thought: Mr. Krabs, a comic book 'guru'? And Squidward's awkward reaction before he revealed his secret was hilarious.
The teasing and the shellphone gag were by far my favourite parts. 'Do you expect me to cry?' Squidward (in a posh voice, which he nailed): 'No, Mr. Bob, I expect you to fry.'
There were also some not-nice parts: (which I can understand, but they're noticeable so I wanted to list them) Squidward cutting off his legs, SpongeBob pouring peroxide onto the fish in the wheelchair and the ending (not with the teasing, obviously, I'm talking about about CT & DN trying to lower MP & BS into the fry basket, which they would've done if the KK wasn't destroyed.) But they couldn't have happened any quicker - the only thing I don't want is an episode that focuses on something disturbing the whole way through. But a few slightly gross moments sprinkled here and there & that's fine.

I don't get this episode. This episode is very funny but not good enough to get a golden but GOOD episode. By the way, I know Squidward hates SpongeBob but this is too far. Also why is Spongebob help Mr. Krabs to be a villain when he is wearing a superhero shirt? Well it gets a 9.5/10.

I like this episode. :clapping: It has an early post-movie feel to it, only with Season 7-9 Squidward (who is just awful).
The best part was the action cards during the "fight scene" at The Krusty Krab. They are freaking hilarious! :thumb1:

I do feel kinda bad for Mr. Krabs, however. He got the same treatment as Squidward, even if he didn't do anything bad. But I'm not gonna dislike Spongebob and Patrick for that. They made me laugh quite hard.

Squidward as Dr. Negative is also very fitting. Him trying to literally KILL SB and Pat is a bit overkill, but... :coffee: it's far from the first time he's attempted murder on the show. I'm no longer surprised.

Really overhated episode, BTW.
Score: 9/10

Squidward wasn't going to kill SpongeBob it was just the fryer. Squidward and Mr. Krabs land in it and end up fine.

Kinda hypocritical how you complain about people giving SpongeBob and Patrick flack for things Squidward does. But you do the opposite yourself.

He was indeed intending to murder them. His monologue confirms this. The fryer didn't kill Squidward and Mr. Krabs because they're not the protagonists. Classic cartoon logic.

Well, someone's gonna do it. I'll admit, I do the opposite, but they are much less aware of their shenanigans and never have intentions to harm someone, compared to Squidward. That's why.

Episode: MermaidPants (S9-E205-B)

I Like this episode. The plot is a little bit mediocre. I like the ending where Squidward and Krabs are naked after the collapse.

Final Score = 9/10

I thought this episode was pretty good! It was funny, had great action, and it was interesting to see an MM/BB episode without the actual MM/BB in it.

Ranking so far:
1. Mermaid Pants (A)
2. Whirlybrains (C)

This episode was terrible!

The biggest problem with it was Squidward

He had no true motive for wanting to boil SpongeBob and Patrick in the vat of hot oil

If a boss from a game I recently played had a better legitimate reason for doing what he did then Squidward went WAYYYY too far!

Even MR.KRABS said that:

"Ok Mr. Squidward, playtime is over"

"Things are getting a little intense here"

Again, where was Squidward's true motivation for killing his neighbors?

It's not like SpongeBob and Patrick killed any of his family

He just wanted them gone because they were annoying

One of my favorite post-sequal episodes. It's very fun to watch SpongeBob and Patrick play around with Mr. Krabs and Squidward. Sure, there isn't much of a conflict, but it's still fun.

Amazing Episode (9/10)

Honestly, I think this episode is really annoying. A lot of it is SpongeBob and Patrick screaming and messing up other characters days. I don't get why Krabs is shown to be a Comic Book Geek. Seriously, what does that have anything to do with his character? I really only like the climax, when Squidward is shown to actually portray his role as the vile Doctor Negative, and the last joke about the narrator questioning his life choices. Thus far, it's my least favorite episode from Season 10, but I might need to re-watch some others to guarantee that. Thankfully, other MermaidPants episodes didn't end up as bad as this one, with Man Ray Returns being pretty funny and featured less SpongeBob and Patrick screaming, and Appointment TV being sweet and heartwarming.

Rating: 3 comic books Krabs owns for some reason out of 10
