SpongeBob SquarePants: The Complete Ninth Season (DVD/Blu-Ray) Release?

dude they were produced that way. The DVD copies are literally the original rips. They look the exact same (or a little worse) on tv then on the dvd.

Blu Rays were produced for HD Content. Seasons 1-8 were not produced in HD meaning it wouldn't make a difference (except for like 2 eps)
You mentioned Truth or Square, and It's a Spongebob Christmas?

Well, SB Xmas was also released on Blu-Ray (another theory :D) and both movies were too, yet Truth or Square is not, and nowhere (not even ITUNES) to be found HD, even though Nickelodeon airs it HD, but so far, all HD content of SpongeBob has been on blu-ray release, so I know for a fact they will release all future seasons of spongebob (9, 10, 11 and so on) on blu-ray AND dvd, digital's already out btw for 9 and 10

Although I don't get Blu-Ray DVDs, I agree with the proposal of it having a similar design to the DVDs. I often find it annoying when I get a DVD collection and the designs don't match - Season 16 of South Park sticks out like a sore thumb on my shelf and I hate it.

I feel like Season 9 is destined to be released in the Fall. That, or just in time for Christmas. One of the two.

And two volumes? I don't get why shows even release DVDs like that in the first place. It's kinda silly. If I want the 9th Season on DVD I ain't making two separate purchases for it...
Send me a pic of your South Park DVD/Blu-Ray collection and i'll show ya mine to see the difference, a big difference is that Season 13-16's blu-rays are 2-disc so you lose SOME of the artwork, so if you have the original DVDs of any of those, keep them, as with 12, 17-19, cause you can do some difference things and have both versions incase you're on the road :D (why i'm getting the future SB seasons on DVD and Blu-Ray)

Well, I have no Blu-Ray versions yet, but...

But if I'm honest, I might consider buying the Blu-Ray versions of all of them, because the cases for the first couple seasons (7 in particular) infuriate me as I'm trying to keep them intact. I love the cases for Seasons 17 onwards, as they're more solid.

I've got to buy SpongeBob season DVDs, mostly because I don't like the compilation DVDs I have now as they have episodes in any odd order. (And while I have The First 100 Episodes, that's Region 1, so it's not exactly ideal for me. Love the box though!)

the blu-rays have no re-releases at all, I ordered all mine last year from amazon and they're all the original boxsets, and i'm planning on getting the special edition of the 20th season blu-ray when it comes out next month, I might be in another state when it comes, and i'll have a Best Buy in my city, where i live the one closed in the past few years, but I hope I can get the special blu-ray, I hope in the future I can get the normal blu-ray for my shelf, otherwise, here's my SP DVD/Blu-Ray collection.

Seasons 1-3, and 6 got from eBay for $15, 1 and 2 were used but gr8 condition (the first SP seasons I bought, which was June 2016), Seasons 12-18 got from amazon for around $10 each, Season 19 got from Best Buy in August 2016, and Season 9 for $10 from eBay, sealed from walmart, still missing: Season 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 and Movie BD

I find it weird that they haven't upgraded the DVDs to Blu-Rays to even get more money. I mean...isn't that what Nickelodeon does?

idk, but I hope they announce the date for 9's blu-ray soon or i'll give up, that, or their finally making bonus stuff for the sets again :)

I Think you are right. And they have two more reasons to release a SpongeBob dvd. Since they made a DVD for SpongeBob,You're Fired & It Came from Goo Lagoon they should make a Goodbye Krabby Patty & The new spongebob halloween special. POINT MADE. :sbdance:

TheJasbre202, why do you think the would release this on Blu-Ray when the only spongebob Blu-Rays are: The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie & Sponge Out of Water? :sbconfused:

because every spongebob widescreen HD episode / movie has been released on blu-ray (minus Truth or Square for some odd reason).
