I know it's unlikely, but I hope they use the dolphin noise sound effect for that. It'd be a nice reference to Sailor Mouth.

A lot of movie theaters in the Washington area (Seattle/Bellevue) have like 3 showings or something on Thursday. Still seeing it on Friday there tho.

What songs were and weren't in the movie?

Neither Thank Gosh It's Monday nor Be Positive were heard, but Teamwork WAS heard. However, an instrumental version of "Monday" played somewhere as the background music.
I think these two songs were created ONLY for the day of positivity, and the footage we have is probably part of some music video by creators of the movie.
However, I'm glad Be Positive wasn't used. It was short and annoying. And the seaweed mustache in the frame wasn't used, so I think there will be no continunity snarls.

Darn. When I ordered my ticket I was thinking of my old schedule, not my current one. I actually could have gone to the 7-7:40PM premieres. Oh well, at least I'm seeing it opening night. |D;

Regarding the music: Didn't we already know that (cont↓)
"Thank Gosh It's Monday" wasn't in the movie? Vincent Waller said that he was pretty sure it wasn't, and I never really understood how it would play out with the plot anyhow. (Not to mention, I love the idea of them making something special in 2D with all of the CG we've gotten.)

Edit:

Your way of hiding spoilers isn't working, so... SPOILERS!!!
You have to remove the {color} code from the spoiler code in the BBC Code Mode. (That little gray switch box next to the eraser icon in the top left corner.) It breaks when you do that, which is why it's not showing up.

Yeah, it would have been a Big Lipped Alligator Moment for sure.

Alright. Lemme say it. Squeeze Me is growing on me. Even if some lyrics are ridiculous. But omfg the Culture Shock reference. So happy they did that. Honestly, that is one of the few SB moments I truly laugh out loud at.
I may have squee'd a little bit at how adorable the credits animation is. Also... SQUIDWARD'S DANCE! I think I remember seeing "Culture Shock" when it first came on television. Oh my god the nostalgia.... this movie is coming across as a love letter to classic Spongebob.

I think everybody has made their point here. Back on topic please.
DadMom, I honestly consider you to be the honorary mom of this entire site. You're nice to everyone and you keep everything in order.

I think TGIM was a deleted scene that they decided to make use of with the Day of Positivity was cut pretty late, judging by how well animated it was. I'm fine with it not being in the movie as long as it's a special feature on the Blu-Ray.

Maybe there will even be an extended cut on the Blu-Ray. I'd love that since it seems like there's a whole lot crammed into this hour and a half and they might have had to take a lot out since it's a kids movie. :P

On the other hand, there is no seaweed mustache in the frame! No screwing with contininity! You should have listened to Waller.
The seaweed mustache was a cute nod and SpongeBob has almost no continuity anyway. That's hardly a positive thing that it was cut, considering that song was so awesome.

As far as it playing into the plot, it wouldn't have been any different than the first movie when SpongeBob's getting ready for work and you see him eating soap, brushing his teeth, and putting his pants on. The whole song would have set up what a positive character SpongeBob is and how much he loves his job, which is pretty important for newcomers.

Makes me wonder if at one point Be Positive was going to be in the movie but it didn't get as far as Thank Gosh It's Monday did. Maybe people at test screenings said there were too many songs.

I dunno if I can even see this movie right away. I got so much stuff to study for, especially an exam on Saturday too. I'll try to make time but I don't really know yet.

I'd say that one is less likely to have been in, since the upload of it didn't seem to have much original animation, and the ones that looked new for it I think are from Team Work. Maybe there's some chance it was cut before the actual animation process, though.

We'd better get a good list of deleted scenes on this Blu-Ray, and maybe even a Peter Jackson-style extended cut. Not just for these songs, the spin class line needs to be restored! :P (Plus the Slash cameo, which seems pretty weird to take out. Although has that been confirmed not in the movie or just rumored? If he has literally nothing more than he has in the trailer, maybe it's a "blink and miss it" type of cameo.)

Yeah, I meant that maybe it was cut at or before the animatic stage.

The behind-the-scenes videos they've released so far haven't actually shown very much behind-the-scenes of the animation. I assume that on the home release at least there will be a special feature that goes into a lot more detail.

I just realized something, no Thank Gosh It's Monday might mean no Bubble Bass. It was so awesome to see him again after all these years, I hope he appears somewhere else in this movie. D:

I know I originally posted this in the "TV spots" thread by mistake, one of my dumb::dolphin noise:: moments there, but I'm gonna post it again here since it seems right.

What if the Shining popsicles scene was based off of a line in Squeeze Me?

"Come play with us before we melt"

The original line from The Shining is "Come play with us" and popsicles can melt. This is all coming together.
