And?
That doesn't change the fact that being out-of-character is not acceptable IMO
okay first thing first sandy is not out of character since she always had zero tolerance for stupidity so she's not out of character
and what i meant was tha since they're cartoon characters comparing that to same situation in real life doesn't make sense

What do you mean 0 tolerance for stupidity? SpongeBob and Patrick are with her all the time and she's never flipped out. In Karate Island, a frequently panned post-movie episode, Sandy is originally bothered but she eventually comes arounf and consideres him the king of karate in her book... how is that 0 tolerance?
Sandy dealt with the town's 'stupidity' in the beginning of Sandy, Sb, and the worm... how was that 0 tolerance?
Heck, forget episode examples, HOW would Sandy be friends with SpongeBob and Patrick if she has '0 tolerance for stupidity'... hell how would she even LIVE in Bikini Bottom?
Okay buddy, well guess what? THere's this thing called morality. Morality should not get a pass just because 'it's a cartoon' because a deviance from morality is ugh. Feeding friends dangerous food in a normally happy show is not appropriate and in-character, especially for Sandy. SHE DOES NOT WANT TO KILL PATRICK--that's out of character. Yes, it's out of character for any of the main characters to do such a thing regardless of who kills whom--even Plankypoo almost killing Krabs.. it's never right.

By far, the worst special yet. It was dumb, anoying, pointless, drawn-out, and B-O-R-I-N-G! Too bad that there's no Patchy to make things interesting.

okay here's my last argument, would you consider a character that's well established as good guy phisically and psycologicly torturing his best and only friend during an entire eleven minute cartoon by making him crash into walls, explode, almost drowning him, driving him insane and suffer through countless other tourments just for fun without ever suffering from any consequences, wrong and unapceptable?

Umm, no. THat's very OOC for Patrick and you know that's OOC for Patrick. That doesn't give other characters excuses to be jerks.....
or if oyu're referring to SB, very OOC and wrong for him too.... ::dolphin noise:: it that's OOC for everyone on this show
THese things are what make bad episodes bad... you're just disproving everything you said right now

and what did that have to do with Sandy feeding Patrick radioactive material?

Well them duck amuck is probably not a very good character unless the show is meant to be like that--exactly what this show is not meant to be like

You know what I just realized?

Customers walking out of the Krusty Krab.
Customer 1: This place is terrible!
Customer 2: The Krusty Krab has really gone downhill.

Take that, audience?
How did I not notice that bit of meta humor there? Wow.

This episode had some typical post-movie problems like Spongebob crying too much, Patrick being waaay to stupid, and Mr.Krabs being super greedy. If you're willing to look past those flaws this episode has some REALLY funny moments that made it my favorite episode. Also, Squidward has a pretty awesome buttkicking scene at the end. I give it a 7/10. It was good but if it didn't have some of those post-movie problems in the beginning then it would've gotten a way better score.

Too lazy to come up with a new review, so I'll just copy off my TV.com review:
I actually kinda enjoyed this episode very much. Despite it having a few flaws.

Parts I liked:

- Patrick's second head thingy

- SpongeBob saying "I'm Ready!" like he should have since Season 3.

- Squidward saving SpongeBob and bringing him back to the Krusty Krab.

Parts I hated:

- Boring filler at beginning

- "I'll save a whole nickel if I cut your salary!"

- SpongeBob crying for about 45 seconds. Felt like All That Glitters or A Day Without Tears.

- SpongeBob was a bit boring without his job.

- Patrick's Acts of Funemployment were kind of annoying.

- A running gag of SpongeBob getting fired from different restaurants.

- The episode was kinda predictable.

So all in all, this episode was pretty decent for Season 9, but still a bad episode. Also, did they change Old Man Jenkins' voice? It sounds a little different in Season 9.

I'd give this episode a 5/10. It was really boring for me to sit through, and the fact that Mr. Krabs fired SpongeBob for a NICKEL is really stupid. You can really predict what is going to happen--of course SpongeBob wouldn't be good at making food that isn't Krabby patties. On a more positive note, was nice that Squidward saved SpongeBob from the other restaurant people who wanted him.

While I don't really agree with my old review and can improve it (I'll do it someday), I still dislike this episode (there are a few good lines and Squidward's butt-kicking scene), but I noticed some untapped potential in this episode.

When SpongeBob made really good snail food for Gary, they should've had SpongeBob make his own company selling his snail food, and make lots of money and shove it into Krabs' face. This would make him beg to come back and show that Krabs was grateful for having a loyal fry cook like SB. If that was executed correctly, I bet I would enjoy this episode a lot more.

THINGS I DISLIKED:

Filler

Mr Krabs

THINGS I LIKED:

Some of the jokes

Gary consoling Spongebob

Squidward saving Spongebob

Overall, it's not really good, thanks to the filler, but it's not even close to the worst. It's semi watchable and heck, Mr K has done much worse. 5.9/10

Hello guys,

I found a interesting theory about this episode:

Spongebob: You're Fired takes place in Season 1, shortly after Help Wanted
Mr. Krabs underestimates Spongebob's usefulness and overestimates his own cooking skills, meaning this probably takes place before that episode where Mr. Krabs bred the appetizer monster and realizes he's a terrible chef. Squidward's a jerk but not overly so, and even goes out of his way to save Spongebob from those restaurant mascots, and isn't shown to hate Spongebob as much as he does in later episodes ("I hate the smell of burnt Krabby Patties even more than you") meaning this must take place before all those Squidward torture porns that depict Spongebob going out of his way to ruin Squidward's life. Patrick as dumb in this episode as in most post-movie ones (he, surprisingly, knows the meaning of "fired" and tries helping Spongebob out of his slump rather than trying to make things worse like in other episodes), and this might even take place right after "Tea at the Treedome" since Sandy doesn't seem to have a lot of interaction with Patrick in this and labels him a "freeloader". And Spongebob himself doesn't go out of his way to try and annoy anyone, rather the annoyance comes because he's so depressed from being fired. Also, Spongebob acts as if this is the first time he's been fired even though he already has been in "Karate Choppers", meaning it might take place even before that.
It kinda makes sense :P
