Overall I will do a ranking of this season but for now it is a very good season and my second favorite season behind season 3. Coincidentally 10 episodes got 10/10 so that's kinda cute.

For it being the first season of the show, it's pretty good. Of course, there were a few duds but it doesn't bring the season down from being great.

Well, for the first season they really started off strong huh. Of course, there are quite a few average episodes, but they don't take away from the experience too much. Comedy isn't as strong as in future seasons, and the plots are simpler, but in this case, simple is beautiful. Average rating is 7.31, which means this is a good season.

This is honestly the weakest of the pre-movie seasons. I think the problem with this season is that the plots were weak and unfunny, and yeah, simple is good for introductions, but how simple is the problem. I think the only good introduction is Tea at the tree dome, honestly really funny and good. But this season also had really mean episodes, like Texas, Jellyfishing, Fools in April, Squidward The Unfriendly Ghost (good humor but meh plot), and MuscleBob Buffpants. This season also had some creepy episodes, like I Was A Teenage Gary, Nature Pants, and Squeaky Boots. Other episodes are either great, good, or just plain meh. And there were A LOT of mehs. Hooky, Opposite Day, Neptune's Spatula, Hall Monitor, Sandy's Rocket, Scardey Pants, Employee of the Month, Suds, just to name a few. This is not to say this is my least favorite season, it did have a few good ones like SB-129, Rock Bottom, Arrgh!, Karate Choppers, Sleepy time, just to name a few.

Conclusion: This season was a mixed bag of meh and low good.

Season 1: High Meh Season
Honestly, there are a lot of good ones in season 1. However, the duds are probably worse than some other seasons, and it honestly really lowers down the quality of the season. But there are a couple episodes that are still pretty outstanding, and are good episodes. It's not a season I would want to binge, but it does have some good episodes that really bring it up.

My favorite season probably. All the episodes are at least nice for me.

Best, Good, Mediocre, Bad, Worst & Good but Overrated

After looking back at all the episodes, I'm starting to feel I'm not a huge fan of this season. Sure, there's plenty of episodes I would call "Good", however about half of the good episodes were super close to mediocre territory (for your convenience, the episodes that were close to being mediocre have all been compiled to the bottom 2 rows of the "Good" category, and "Arrgh!" and "Ripped Pants" fall into the "nearly mediocre" territory too).

Now, all that's left to talk about is the episodes I felt deserved their own sections.

"Squeaky Boots" - I can see why people hate this one, I just find it really funny. It's a clever parody of the Telltale Heart and has some great comedy at times.

"I Was a Teenage Gary" - I always liked this one. I think it's got some good humor and an interesting first half.

"Valentine's Day" - As much as people hate it, I find Patrick going insane super funny in this episode. It's got some classic moments too.

"Fools in April" - As much as I enjoy the scenes with Squidward trying to apologize, the first half of the episode is sorta boring and too mean spirited for my liking.

"Neptune's Spatula" & "Nature Pants" - These are the two worst episodes for the same reason: they're both incredibly boring. I think there's a few alright jokes in each of them, but I get so bored watching them that it makes it hard to rewatch.

"Ripped Pants" - This is only "Good" for the song, I honestly think that the rest of the episode is too repetitive, but that could just be because I've seen it so many times.

"Pizza Delivery" - It's got some good moments, but I don't like the Krusty Krab Pizza song, and I think this episode gets way too much praise.

And that's all I have to say about this season. Not bad but definitely not the best in my opinion.
