Patrick's Friendship Appreciation Post

- When SpongeBob's crying when his spatula's broken in All That Glitters, Patrick comes up the hill and mocks his crying, then leaves.
- As much as I like the episode itself, Patrick treats SpongeBob like he's actually dumb in I'm With Stupid.
- Doesn't share a toy with SpongeBob and keeps it to himself.
- Doesn't know anything about his friend.

I don't think Patrick was mocking Spongebob. I think he started crying because he heard Spongebob crying and it upset him. We've seen this sort of chain reaction happen with him. It seemed pretty genuine.


I can forgive I'm With Stupid because A) it's hilarious, and B) I don't find it surprising that Patrick's stupidity and massive inferiority complex caused him to believe that his best friend was an idiot.

Plus, Spongebob has made snide comments about Patrick's weight (and occasionally his intelligence) at times, something Patrick is obviously pretty touchy about. He also totally abandoned Patrick after he became wealthy, and he intentionally caused Patrick to burn his own hand on the stove.

I AGREE.
Everyone- EVERYONE- has their good moments and bad moments.

When I'm honest I feel like Patrick was at his worst in "Nature Pants" and "Dumped."

SpongeBob has done a ton of horrible idiotic things, but I still love him :dunno:

If it helps, Spongebob has also done some bad things, but I feel bad for him, cause he actually gets abuse more than Squiddy, which prevents him from being the worst. Patrick's only abuse episode is No Hat for Pat, so...I don't feel bad for him.

It was pretty much fake crying.
 
i still like pretty much every character (with a few exceptions, like squilliam and karen, which i hate, and pearl which i don't care for)

let's face it, every character had their bad moments. spongebob and patrick had quite a lot of bad moments (too many for me to list), squidward had little yellow book, krabs had plankton's regular and one coarse meal, mrs. puff had demolition doofus...

the show suffers from extreme lack of continuity. patrick can kill spongebob in an episode and give him a million dollars in the next one.

I think you covered many of the moments, and he's an absolute sweetheart in Season 1 <3 Granted, theree's also lots of moments where he was causing a ruckus.. but WITH a friend if that makes sense?

Either way I thought it was hilarious. It just came out of nowhere.

I can usually forgive a character being a jerk if it's funny. (I still think Pat was actually crying.)

I must admit: is Patirck my least favorite character? Yeah


does he have many moments where I just want to give him a hug until he practically dies? Um yeah!! He's so irresistible and cute in episodes like have you seen this snail, or in Help Wanted, or heck EVEN IN SOME POST-MOVIE EPISODES as long as you find the right ones as rare as they can be. (For example, Not Normal... never was he a butthole.
