How did SpongeBob (and especially Squidward) become normal again after they transformed into snails?

I know it might be just cartoon logic, but I really wanted to ask the question...

How did SpongeBob and Squidward become their normal selves after having went through the gruesome process of turning into a snail? I mean, cartoon people can't just magically turn back into their normal selves after said gruesome process, right?

I mean, I know it's a cartoon and all, but I think there's something more to this than what we've been seeing. Let me know what you guys think!

I agree with what Spongie33 said. Maybe, wondering why his prized employee isn't at work, Mr. Krabs visits SpongeBob's house and discovers the snailified Squidward and SpongeBob. After that he takes them to Sandy because she probably knows how to turn them back and also taking them to the hospital would require health insurance and money.

I’m guessing the change isn’t permanent. They probably might’ve reverted back to their normal forms after a few hours.
