Every Episode of SpongeBob Reviewed: A Video Series

I liked Dear Vikings. I loved SB vs. The Big One. I thought S6 was almost on the same level as S1. I managed to enjoy it, but I disliked Season 7. I can understand the hate because there are quite a few bad episodes that season (Choir Boys, Pet or Pests, etc.) but I still enjoyed it.

Why are we arguing over semantics and what does it even matter what word he uses for these videos? Just asking. Also, "Whatever Happened to SpongeBob Elaboration" sounds like a boring title to me and doesn't ring off the top of my tongue well.
This. Who cares about the name? It doesn't matter whatever he calls it, we all know what it means anyway. So let's stop arguing over that.

It looks like even the bad season 6 episodes can manage to make you laugh at how bad they are. One that I don't find funny at all is Squid's Visit. That episode was way too sadistic for my taste.

I found the episode more creepy than sadistic. Wonder what Pieguy thinks of it? I'm super curious about his opinions on House Fancy, Giant Squidward, and Slumber Party.

Squid's Visit was unsettling, especially Squidward's breakdown.
To be fair though, at least they were clearly trying to make SpongeBob creepy, unlike in some other episodes where it just happens when it shouldn't.

House Fancy was an okay episode for me. It was interesting to see Squilliam's house, and it was great to see Squidward win, but SpongeBob was a bit annoying (the fact that he was spying on Squidward at the beginning certainly doesn't help ._.), and the toenail scene was gross, but not to the point where the whole episode is bad, because it only lasted a few seconds (I'm not going to make a huge deal over it like people on YouTube).

Giant Squidward was also okay. It had some redeeming qualities.

The Slumber Party, while not close to the worst episode of the show, is one of my least favorites for a variety of reasons.

Hmmm... you make a good point, PGR. But, creepy doesn't fit SpongeBob's character. I know he was trying to make Squidward more comfortable when he "visited" him, but the way this episode pulled it off was too eerie and dark. And, of course, SpongeBob "borrowed" Squidward's vacuum cleaner. Way to encourage someone that borrowing means breaking into your neighbor's house and stealing one of their belongings and decorating style.

Slumber Party and Pineapple Fever are guilty pleasure episodes for me. Most people say that Slumber Party is meh, but for me, some moments did make me laugh, particularly Pearl kicking Mr Krabs out of the house and the girly teen girl part. And yes, Pineapple Fever was bad, but I laughed all throughout the episode because of how bizarrely bad it was.

Can anyone name what they think is the flattest/most boring episode of season 6 and 7 in their opinion? I want to do a comparison between how they're pulled off.

I enjoyed Squid's Visit and the breakdown scene was... interesting.

I MEAN LOOK AT IT

For me, the flattest episode was To Squarepants or Not to Squarepants. And The Big One was pretty forgettable but not terrible at the same time.

To Squarepants or Not to Squarepants was such a yawn for me. "Oh no, SpongeBob doesn't have his square pants!" Just that plot by itself doesn't sound that interesting.

I was also bored by Dear Vikings. It's a meh in my book.

I have to agree. I don't like to see SB acting this way, intentionally or not.

Flattest of 6: Pet or Pests. It's also my least favorite of the season (check earlier in the thread) but this episode really bored me.

Flattest of 7: You Don't Know Sponge is the most boring and flattest episode ever made. Not even a slight contest.

I thought Season 7 was more flat then 6, but you know I like Season 6 so I might be biased.

Gah, To Pants or not to Pants or whatever the heck is called is a guilty pleasure of mine. I just love the sequence of SB acting like Squidward and the job application part. The rest was stupid. :P

I loved SB acting like Squidward. That alone managed to make me give it a good rating. Although yeah, the rest was pretty stupid.

Hmm.. let's see:

Pet or Pests was pretty boring, but for the most part it was gross and annoying. Plus, it was lazy on the jokes, especially that final quote that barely made any purpose or relation to the episode whatsoever. And, that labor scene was uncalled for. ._.

You Don't Know Sponge, I strongly agree with. This episode was so monotone and messed up on so many levels. The first 6 minutes was SB and Pat taking that lame quiz, the next few minutes is SpongeBob crying over it, then spying on Patrick, and then they make up at the end. Yeah, we all saw that coming. But, this episode's boring filler and plot weren't the worst part of it: Patrick didn't know the simplest of things about his friend. I know Patrick is stupid, but this is Patrick's stupidity done wrong!

IMO, YDKS > PoP (not by a long shot), but by the standards of boring, I'd choose PoP over YDKS, because PoP had something interesting at least. YDKS was half as funny as sitting like a bump on a log all day. In simpler terms, that episode wasn't funny at all.

These are my thoughts, but I tried my best to be general with this analysis.

I prefer YDKS to PoP too in main, but yes PoP has a better story, even if it's a bad one. So I pretty much agree with you all the way here.

I have a theory as to why SpongeBob in some of these episodes is more obsessive and fixated on certain things. Maybe this was just a side to the character from "To Love a Patty" that they wanted to bring back for a couple of more episodes. I even heard the audio commentary for that episode and basically they were saying that SpongeBob has an obsessive compulsive, mentally unbalanced side to him and that they found it to be one of the funnier sides to the character. Doesn't excuse having it be completely out of place in several episodes but at least there was some kind of reasoning for it.
