does it annoy you slightly? I mean, I don't blame them for hating it because of the mediocraity it went in, but face freeze wasn't that bad, not compared to a pal for gary or the thing at least.

there are a lot of people that say it sucks without even checking it out, what are your opinions?

Umm.... well, we are all fans, true fans at that (hopefully)

and those who just bash away at a series without even watching or just to be part of the bandwagon don't really know a good series when they see it.

But yes, I guess some of the past seasons haven't fared as well and was unforeseen, but yes, we are entering I guess another little "golden age". Hopefully this will gun down the people who really truly have absolutely no taste in television whatsoever.

Honestly, the Pieguyrulz video really pissed me off. While I can respect opinions, this line simply enrages me:

"Maybe the old episodes were so good, people who like new Spongebob get blinded and still think it's a good show."

And, with a blink of an eye, my respect for that guy was gone.

I pm'ed to check out through the mini golf one

he hasn't really checked out that many new spongebob episodes except for It's A Spongebob Christmas, which he liked. but I think he mainly does it to appease the peopel who watch his channel.

also, how does it make you lose respect for him.

He's basically stereotyping anyone who liked new Spongebob and treating old Spongebob like a flawless god send.

Ultimately, them hating the show isn't going to get it cancelled. That's up to the kids, and luckily the kids still seem to enjoy it. It's still Nick's highest rated show by a significant margin.

People love to hate SpongeBob. He's an easy scapegoat and, let's be honest here, there's lots of rant fodder (I've ranted on a fair few terrible episodes myself).
But people also love to love SpongeBob, which is why this forum exists. :p

While I am subscribed to PIEGUYRULZ, and I do agree with some of his opinions, I did not agree with his Face Freeze! rant. I think the problem with the episode was not so much that it lacked a plot, but rather that it relied on the same joke over and over. The ending also sucked goombas. The plot had a lot of potential, and the faces were extremely creative. Compared to a lot of Season 8 it is pretty weak, but I wouldn't consider it a "terrible episode".

I strongly disagree with the one on the bottom. Seasons 5-6 were terrible, 7 was healing but only by a little bit and most of 8 was good. I believe these people are influenced by seasons 4-6 that the show will only get worse. Try watching the episodes, people!

Eh, I wouldn't go so far as to say that SpongeBob is entering a new "golden age." Season 9 is pretty good, especially when compared to Season 6, but Classic SpongeBob will always be the best.

Although, truthfully, I'm of the party who just wants the show to have a grand finale instead of being cancelled. This show deserves better than that, even though its quality has seriously slipped.

From the new episodes I saw which I thought were pretty funny (A Friendly Game, Patrick's Staycation) I can say it has reached there with the exception of a handful of bad episodes, some people also said there were several episodes from season8/9 that were even better tha those. :naughty:

and from these people on Youtube, it seems like that no matter what Spongebob will never ever go back up even remotely in quality (even though a lot of peopel here would say otherwise ) but they're also forgetting that a lot of shows been through those kind of periods as weel, I mean, look at South Park's first 4 seasons or so and the 2nd half of season 12 alonge with the majority of season 13, Futurama also had a small, rough time getting back on its feat during the 6th season, but they're both still quality shows that defintely have rose from the deep of those seasons. So if the Spongebob writers/directors/storyboard artists keep applying to themselves, they can keep pumping out funny season. Kudos to the new staff for proving they can get this show out of the abyss that was known as seasons 4,6, and 7, and good luck to them in the future. :w00t:

Yes, well, I despise both of those episodes. There's nothing I hate more than a new episode in which Patrick is a major character. He's either an ::dolphin noise:: or too dumb to live. Ugh, I hate that starfish.....

Anyway, I've seen South Park and Futurama, but I've never actively watched either of them to notice major changes in the characters. As for SpongeBob, at this point, I really just want the series to end. Unless they get Hillenburg back to helm the show, I just want it done.

Yes, I said it, I hate Patrick.
Yes, I said it. I hate Sandy. Except in a good karate episode. You some what remind me of some of the members I knew in the past. Anyways, the PieGuy thing. I sort of disagree with him, but I believe some of the things he said.

Well no matter how great the show becomes again, there are some people that simply lost interest in the show due to seasons such as 5 and 6. From what I've seen, some have given seasons 8 and 9 a chance, but still didn't like them

I honestly don't think the show is even close to having another Golden Age. Has it gotten better? Yes. Is it the quality of season 2 and 3? Not even the quality of season 1 for me. It still feels like a different show. Why? Well the show still has flanderization, still has the horrible-okay-ish-good plots, way too many Plankton episodes and Spongebob and Patrick still act like brainless idiots. Pretty ironic though because I actually sort of liked Face Freeze.

Another golden age? I think that's a bit of an over expectation. I'm really happy with the current progress but I really don't think the next few seasons will be as good as season 2-3. There are still some flaws, likewise. As for the PieGuy rant about Face Freeze. I would like to politely say, PieGuy that you are a [snip]. Face Freeze was great. It's like a worse version of Hooky (Only a tiny bit worse) and a much MUCH better version of The Main Drain. It had a lesson and the faces were creative at their best. The ending, though, was a bit dumb. Krabs (As much as I hate that guy) and Squid (As much as I love that guy) shouldn't get a freeze because they were innocent.

I was turned off by the faces, at first, but the segment isn't that bad. It is flawed, the ending was disappointing, it relies on the same joke, but I would go as far as to say that I liked it.
