As an antagonist, I'd want another squid that's not the same ole blue squids. Like this guy...
The Vampire Squid! I've become very fascinated with them. He could be a unique, possibly one off character, addition to an episode. He could be red, probably with blue eyes and, tentacles that make him always appear to have a dress. I plan to draw a SpongeBob squid eventually. Look at his tentacles and tell me it doesn't look like a dress.
In addition to the Vampire squid, we could have more species of octopi beside our common ones. Like the Blue Ring Octopus!
They're poisonous, so I guess it's up for debate. There's also the mimic octopus to, it could be whacky octopus that would enjoy hanging out with SpongeBob. Squidward would grew to like him eventually.
This guy's cool to, it's a Blanket Octopus!
The "blanket" is a defense mechanism, as they do not have ink to ward off predators. It will unfurl its blanket, making it look significantly larger and intimidating. Now the question is, how would you make it anthropomorphic? How would that look?
Lastly, we've this guy.
A Dumbo Octopus. Patrick would be certain that this guy would have ears, eventhough he'd keep telling him they're fin, not ears.
