Toy Story 5 is in development

I mean he basically did leave everyone for a chick. I know he wants to save toys and stuff who need a second chance but the literal first 3 films showed him rejecting that life. If he wanted that he’d stay at the daycare with Barbie. He wants his friends and I hope 5 fixes that.
I see it differently, more like Woody finding a new purpose in his life, after all it is Buzz who convinces him to leave (which is one of the few moments in the movie where Buzz acts without depending on his buttons), and He is sure when he sees that he will be with the person who was the love of his life and who had found a new way of living after Bo realized that she couldn't always be attached to her lamp as just an ornament.

I also respect how you see it, in a way I also would have liked it to be executed in a better way, that Bonnie losing interested in Woody a little more older (11 years old), and that Buzz was the same as always during the whole movie.

Thanks for being respectful. I’m glad you like ts4, but I hate how buzz is out of character like post movie Patrick levels…nobody else does anything accept woody who does a 180 character wise. Ending of ts3 was him rejecting helping toys for his life at sunny daycare. He rejected living with Andy. He chose his friends over everything else. This kinda spat in the face of it. Seems like 5 is gonna change this because woody is confirmed to return.

Also Bonny is just a kid but you see…we are Andy. Imagine if Andy saw her do that to his toy. That’s our reaction. Because woody is also our childhood toy too. We loved him since we were kids and the makers of 4 don’t get that while Andy doesn’t see her abandon woody after taking him like he was important….it still was seen by us who loves woody just as much as Andy,on top of knowing he’s sentient. 4’s hated for ruining 3’s ending and seperating the team.

I really understand that feeling, a part of me, even though I like the message of the movie, feels a bit painful that the ending of TS3 is broken, Andy told Bonnie that Woody would never abandon her no matter what.

I'm not expecting as much from TS5 as I did with TS4 since I expected TS4 to be the final ending and having Andy reunite with his toys would break even more the ending of TS3 about growing up and letting childhood end, with TS4 it was different because I was looking forward to a story focused on Woody and Bo, although in the end they changed a lot of the original script, I still enjoy TS4 that arrived in 2019.

Kinda like it’s a wonderful sponge….they changed so much of what the original creator wanted to do….now we have neo ts4 and sponge on the run

Yes, now that I think about it both movies went through something similar, different directors and writers with a relatively different story that was changed after some problems, Since Toy Story 4 never changed its title like Sponge On The Run did, I called the initial Toy Story 4 "The Lasseter's Cut"

Without lasseter there is kinda like we can say Toy Story 4 isn’t part of the og canon but a new continuity….which is kinda comforting.

I will take the final 2019 version as a second continuity, while I plan to take the Lasseter's cut 2017 version as the true continuation.
Exactly. Kinda weird you don’t see people talk much about the og Toy Story 4 at all. Like I never even see anyone but you talk about it. No YouTube video or anything. You also a fan of behind the scenes production? I love that stuff. Wish we had a book for SpongeBob production. We have one for family guy but not SpongeBob it’s so weird.

YES!, and it bothers me a little that no one talks and interested in finding the script for the 2017 version, it really is one of my greatest wishes.

I am, I love to see everything behind a production, how it was made, what the initial ideas were, etc., and of course, they should launch one of SpongeBob, it is very strange that there is not one like Family Guy being that SB is an icon

The closest we have is “not just cartoons nicktoons!” Book. It’s rare and expensive. Glad I got mine years ago before the price hike because yikes!

Yes, that book really is the closest to showing a behind the scenes of the series, and it was 16 years ago! They should release another similar one only from SB for the 25th anniversary.

At least directors Robert Zimeckis, Bob Gale and producer Steven Spielberg vowed never to make "Back to the Future part IV," since a third sequel would retcon the ending of the second sequel, where Doc Brown and his family fly away on their time train after visiting Marty and Jennifer in 1985. With the films wrapped up at part III, they've used other forms of media to create something akin to sequels, prequels and spin-offs of the "Back to the Future" Trilogy, including a now-defunct ride at Universal Studios theme parks, an animated series, a series of comic books and a computer game, as well as a retelling of the first film's story as a Broadway musical.

Most great films end as trilogies, but where Disney/Pixar is taking "Toy Story" is ridiculous, despite all of the films to come after the first two having great stories...

I'll at least say, I want to see how they pull off the 5th film...

Because to be honest, they had me in tears when Woody and Buzz hugged as a final goodbye along with everyone else. And I get it, why make a 5th? Besides the obvious, they most likely want to show how everyones new lives are doing now after the 4th film.

I think if they want to make it really interesting, they should have it take place a decade or a few decades after TS4, when Bonnie will have grown up.
