The Splat, New Retro Nickelodeon Channel, Coming Soon

Okay, here's news from a much more reliable source:
"After years of teases, small-scale DVD releases and general suspicions, Nickelodeon has announced The Splat, a brand new television channel dedicated to your favorite ’90s Nicktoons of yore. News of The Splat also broke during Brooklyn’s 90s Fest, which featured throwback performances from ’90s superstars like Smash Mouth and “slimings” of kings and queens of the decade like Pauly Shore and Salt N Pepa."

And some words from The Rise and Fall of Nickelodeon's post:
"So THIS, is the actual official news we can get excited about! The Splat will be it's own channel, a channel people have been asking for, for YEARS. A Channel dedicated to 90's Nick and ONLY 90's Nick. No word on when The Splat will release or how it will be available in cable packages
Well, I don't know if people with basic cable will be able to see this, but at the very least it's a full channel, and not being held down. Though I do hope this means TeenNick is dying completely, that channel is nothing but dead air especially with Degrassi finally ending. I want this to be something everyone can see but I don't know if it will be sadly... time will tell. But at LEAST, this is something more.
I'd like to apologize to my dedicated fans who look to me to report this stuff, and Worldscreen got me, and they can kiss the broad side of a freeway overpass for it. I'm glad this has been cleared up, because I was extremely upset that all of this hype would be for nothing. Now, I am much more interested in what The Splat will be bringing once more.
Let's hope this is the first step into something good for Nickelodeon... again, lets HOPE... not saying it will happen."
YAY THEY REDEEMED THEMSELVES

Why do this on TV? The target market for this channel seems to the nostalgic 20 somethings, and most of them don't really have cable and a majority of them get their enterainment from the internet or streaming services like netflix. If it's a channel for solely airing old nick titles, I think this may be a bad move since these titles are available already over the internet.

But then a larger audience of other kids will be opened up to this.

If SB were on CN, there could be a TTG crossover!!! :D
That would be cool but it can't happen since TTG is technically made by Warner Bros. Animation and is bought by CN.

I love all the teasers they've been posting on their social media accounts.

I can't wait. I hope it's a channel and it replaces nicktoons or teenick :rofl2:
