I knew the last produced episode aired a handful of months ago, Fancy Schmancy, and I have to say, it definitely was a good enough episode to wrap up a Season with. Definitely not Seasons 1-9 quality, but still better than a lot of Season 10.
My Old Review from Feb. 26
Well the last episode I reviewed, Certifiable Super Sitter, I felt that the writers didn't know what they were doing on this show, and hardly put any effort into their episodes. Well, this episode proves otherwise. Ironically enough, I think this episode is much better than Certifiable Super Sitter. Why is that ironic? Only 1 person wrote this episode, yet there were 4 WRITERS in Certifiable Super Sitter.
The fact that this single person wrote a much better episode than an episode written by multiple people is either really funny, or really sad. But anyway, this episode is a lot better than the previous episode. You'd think it'd be lame, or mediocre, but it turns out to actually be a lot better in quality compared to CSS (Abbreviated for Certifiable Super Sitter).
Let's talk about where this episode shines, and where it flops.
First off, the plot of the episode is pretty weak if you ask me. There's nothing that special about, and it feels pretty generic if you ask me. I mean, it feels like a Romeo and Juliet ripoff. Plus, when did Timmy and Chloe become suddenly the greatest of friends? This is the first time in the entire season I've seen Timmy actually call Chloe a friend, let alone a best friend. Really, I don't think the plot was too special. It's alright for what it's worth, it does allow for really creative scenery, which we'll get to in a moment, but as for the basic plot idea, well, it's not that good, probably one of the more weaker parts about the episode.
But the comedy, oh my gosh the comedy, I haven't laughed at a FOP episode as much as I did in this episode in a long time. Finally! An episode in Season 10 that has actual good jokes! This episode manages to surpass all other episodes in the season when it comes to it's comedy. This episode absolutely shines in comedy, something other FOP episodes in Season 10 failed to do. This episode is just full of clever, and creative comedic jokes! First off, one of the funniest jokes of the episode is Mr. Turner flooding the entire street, after saying he needs to buy more furniture for their lake house, to which Timmy replies that they don't have a lake house. Not to mention the hilariously creative activities at the Fancy Schmancy Country Club, such as the Mac 'n Cheese Hot tub (Yum!), the Root Beer float Lazy River, and an attraction where you dip yourself in gold! Honestly, this episode is just full of creative humorous jokes.
Not only that, but the pop culture jokes are really turned down in this episode, and I think that really helps this episode actually work well. Of course, there's also the one-off crazy cat lady who lives in a van. That character is HILARIOUS, and I think she's a really clever, original one-off character. I'm really satisfied with the comedy of this episode, I really am . No other episode in this season has been this good in comedy, so I really have to give this episode credit for what it's worth. As for the rest of the episode, well, the plot is more on the generic side, feeling like a Romeo and Juliet ripoff, the lesson is nice, although kind of out of place considering how much Timmy seems to have disliked Chloe in all previous episodes this season.
I mean yeah, they do bond a lot in this season, but in pretty much all episodes aired before this one, even the updated theme song (Which sucks by the way) establishes the idea that Timmy hates Chloe, but in this episode, he says countless amount of times that he and Chloe are best friends. That seems really forced if you ask me. Maybe it's just Nickelodeon doing a terrible job airing these episodes, causing some to air out of order, because this is the last produced episode of the Season after all. Yeah, there are tons of other episodes that haven't even aired before this one aired, so maybe they actually grow together as characters in this season? Who knows. All I know is that this was a very entertaining episode.
It had a nice lesson to it, tons of hilarious comedy, an awesome creative setting, and actually good pop culture jokes (Weird Owl was pretty funny in my opinion, although they really did shove that gag down my throat).
It's a Great Episode.
There's really nothing else to say about it. It was simply entertaining, and I enjoyed it. It didn't seem to have that many flaws in it, and it ultimately worked in my opinion as an episode. Sure, it's not too great of an episode, it's quite close to being a Good Episode, but I think it has just the extra spark with the Comedy in this episode.
I give it an 8.6/10.

In terms of Season finales, it was definitely a lot better than Season 9's finale. For a show that has changed quality faster than FOX's renewal of the Simpsons, this wasn't a bad episode to end the series with. It could've been a lot more atrocious, but thankfully, the episode was a lot better than a majority of Season 10 episodes. I still gotta watch remaining Season 10 episodes, if I want to fully review this Season.
