Here's the way I see it. The "evil" gems like Peridot or whatever basically grew up for thousands of years that way. They were just doing what they had to do, so they showed a lot more potential to unlock something upright in them. Kevin is a different story, though, because he is a human who lived in an environment where his behavior is usually looked down upon. It's kind of hard to change a jerk like Kevin who knows he's being a jerk, but you can change someone like Peridot because she didn't really know that she was doing anything wrong because she was never able to see any other sides of the situation. Once she gained that new perspective by learning about the Crystal Gems themselves and just how generally terrible Yellow Diamond is, she realized that the Crystal Gems' way of doing everything was the right one.Doowop said:
