Most of us, when talking about our favorite porous freak, talk about the funny jokes, the hilarious facial expressions, the catchy and infectious production and original music used in every episode, but do we ever talk about the SFX? Those wacky, wonderful, funny, sometimes even creepy zips, bangs, plops, pows, zaps, boings, sproings, head conks, pings, tings, whaps or falls which we hear in every episode? To me, Jeff Hutchens, who cobbles together the sounds for every episode, is a SFX genius, just as much as Nick Carr is a wizard with editing music. Those horn squawks and duck quacks used whenever someone realizes something (among other uses), the fact each main character (except Patrick and Sandy, I think) have their own distinctive walking SFX (the squeaky shoes for SpongeBob, the "spitball" sounds for Squidward, that scuttling sound for Krabs), the dolphin chirps, horn yells and foghorns used as censors in "Sailor Mouth", yep, Jeff is a genius. Below this text are links with audio samples of SFX Jeff has used on the show. Your ears should instantly recognize at least a couple of these.

The aforementioned horn toots used for takes and realizations.

This was used for Squidward's bike in "Squidville".

This was used in "Sleepy Time".

Used in a few recent episodes like "Unreal Estate" and "Library Cards".

This was used in "Fear of a Krabby Patty".

Heard when SpongeBob is moving the candy bar back and forth in "Life of Crime", you might recognize this from "Oggy and the Cockroaches" as well.

Heard quite a bit in Seasons 1-3.

"DAY... OFFFFF????!!!!!"

The aforementioned "spitball" SFX used for Squidward walking.

Oft used when somebody points at something.
