Should Nicktoons (the channel) be renamed?

Unfortunately I think Rocket Monkeys was too sophisticated for general audiences. Maybe one day it'll be recognized for its brilliance and we'll have no less than 3 reboots.

I'd kill for "Rocket Monkeys Go!".

I agree with Trophy 100%. But knowing Nick, they'd probably remain the channel Nick 2.

Also, I think Disney xD should go back to being Toon Disney. It airs more cartoons than the Disney Channel does, plus the "XD" term is severely outdated.
maybe make nicklodeon nick xd (because they wanna use dead and cringy memes all the time) make disney xd toon disney and make nicktoons nicklodeon (the only name left

IMO, I'd probably do that and move the currently running live action (Mech-X4, possibly Kirby Buckets, if it's renewed) to Disney Channel (it needs more boy programming, live action or not).

A merge doesn't sound like a wonderful solution. Animated programming makes up a good part of Nick's legacy, so "Nicktoons" is evidently a part of that.

Maybe just dedicate a block on the main Nickelodeon channel for sports or something instead of Nicktoons.

They used to have a channel called Nick GaS (games and sports) but disappeared years ago.
"NickGaS"
Hmm...what a juvenile name. Can't imagine people missed it.
I personally like NickFit better - has more of a ring to it...and could cover general fitness as well as sports, which keep you fit. Healthy commercials would also run on this channel for a coherent schedule.

I knew that - it's just that the initialism for Games And Sports is a little unfortunate in that regard. :D

Not really. I don't see other name options for Nicktoons.

NickTeen 2.0.

But honestly, this channel needs to die. Why? Because "dumping Nick cartoons to Nicktoons is still a thing" in 2017, apparently.

You're surprised about this? Nick has always done this since they started making their own shows (mostly Nicktoons). I mean, just look at the many, many shows over the years that took them AGES just to release episodes that were made years before.

This is why Nick is still horrible. They have FIVE Nicktoons at the moment (TMNT isn't really an original Nicktoon though, just another revision of a popular franchise that's been going on for years), so make that four. They only care about TWO of them (Loud House and SpongeBob). That's pretty sad.

...so they care about 40% of their Nicktoons?
(50% when we exclude TMNT)

Sorry, it's just that when you think about it, the numbers are hilarious in a very depressing way.

and yet somehow people think nick is in a new golden age

Not only that, but since I don't know when, the only two Nicktoons to do a full run on Nick were that really bad Monsters vs Aliens show (IRYO if you like it) and Sanjay and Craig.

We should take the live-action on Nicktoons and PUSH IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!

No, Nicktoons is classic. They should just stick to airing the live action shows on standard Nick and the cartoons on Nicktoons... not that difficult but somehow they continue to mess it up

Rocket Monkeys actually did start airing on TV again (for real). It comes on weekday mornings on This TV (if you have that channel).

I started watching it again recently and was completely astounded by how clever and layered the humor is. It's truly a hidden gem of cartoons and in a class of its own. It's a miracle that someone decided to put it back on the air again for audiences to enjoy its genius :rofl2:

I sadly don't have that channel so I can't enjoy the sophisticated cartoon masterpiece on TV anymore. :(
