It's kind of sad to see what the franchise has become in it's current state. Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc. is by far my favorite series in the franchise. The perfect mixing of dark theming, along with classic Scooby Doo charm, and different forms of humor makes one, perfect...
We go from such a brilliantly directed/written series to a cheap reboot that can only really cater to little kids. At the same time, WB seems to enjoy cranking out direct-to-video specials of Scooby Doo!, which got old by the late 2000's. I'll be honest, I liked the earlier direct-to-video Scooby Doo related films from around 2002-2006, but since then, I feel as the creativity from most of the films have been stripped into generic, unoriginal movies you'd play when babysitting some toddler. What's New Scooby Doo? and the original series are both great in my opinion, the original is a classic, and a staple of it's time, and "What's New...?" is a perfect modernization of the original.
Also, I may be the only one who actually likes Casey Kasem's later performances as Shaggy. I don't know, just the older gruffness to his voice sounded pretty neat on Shaggy, even if it didn't make him seem so young.
