rodger bumpass voice of squidward arrested this past Friday night

Great, 2016 and we already have a Squid Rodger abuse episode!

Guys, it's not really funny to make jokes about someone getting arrested, even though he got off with a citation.

On a serious note, I have no problem making jokes about this since he got arrested for breaking a law. He's not the victim here, he's the perpetrator. DUI is VERY DANGEROUS and in most case they crashs their cars and killed somebody, sometimes themselves. If wasn't for bias that he worked for my favorite show, I would've posted about how he deserved jail.

I'm not trying to be funny...But I listened to this when I was reading about this.

Agreed completely.

When I first found all of this out, (a few minutes ago) I was shaking. I felt so sick to my stomach like I was gonna throw-up, why? Because Bumpass is one of my all-time favorite voice actors, and finding out he got arrested for a DUI made me terrified of what was gonna happen for him, and the show.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this situation.

On one hand, I feel disgusted by his actions. I hope he goes to jail, and I hope he stays there for a LONG time.

This is kind of a touchy topic for me. Someone very dear to me was killed by a drunk driver some time ago. Because of someone's reckless stupidity, someone I really cared about is gone from my life, and I will never see them again. I live my life knowing in the back of my mind that this person who brought my life so much joy is now rotting six feet under a slab of stone engraved with their name, and that's all that's left of them.

on the other hand....... a lot of these jokes are really funny, keep 'em coming!

yes but it shouldn't apply here imo
Hey, if aids is funny now (It was considered funny a few hours ago, officially by Reddit) then an arrest with zero charges laid is funny.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend :(

Even though it wasn't smart for him to do, for me DUI isn't the worst crime you could commit. Some Nick worker or whoever might talk to him, but that's all I can see them doing. It's not like anyone or anything was hurt in the process anyways. I say he should just bail himself out and move on with life. Sorry to hear about your friend though Smitty. :(

I disagree. He commited a crime and he got arrested for right reasons. I don't mind him to get made fun of, he's not the victim here at all. If we can make fun of people's illegal actions, why we shouldn't make jokes about it? Tho I gotta say, the joke got old after a few more posts but it makes sense since you can make a lot of jokes about a character that always get into trouble flr no reason.

That character just has the unluckiest set of voice actors. Losing his original German and Japanese voice actors, and his English VA getting in that kind of trouble.

Then again, Rodger's only human. This was his big mistake.

I doubt he's in any kind of serious trouble. He did spend one night in jail.

The average human doesn't purposefully endanger the lives of innocent people.

The average person's mistake would be "oh, did I leave the oven on?" "I think I forgot my keys."

This post sums up my thoughts on this matter on a serious note.

People don't think clearly when they're under the influence of alcohol. It's not like he fully intended to endanger people. I'm just glad that nobody got hurt during all of this.

I agree that he did something stupid. Really stupid. But he didn't mean to hurt anyone.
