Everybody knows the hit Cartoon Network show Adventure Time. It's about Finn the human and Jake the dog having fun and being heroes in the land of Ooo. What do I think of it? It's pretty clever and definitely deserves the acclamation it gets. I do however, have a consistent criticism about the show. It's often too weird. I remember an episode about Finn waking up as Bubblegum's prince and then this green worm appears and it jets get weirder and weirder from there. You can never know what to expect from the show. I've reached the point to where I've grown numb of the outlandish shenanigans. I've expected the weirdness in every episode. The excessive weirdness is tiring me down. And I have accepted the fate that I will always like the show but never ever love it.

The same goes for this episode. It has a great story. Very relatable. I've always had to procrastinate every task and then doing it in the last minute. But, it took an unexpected rural route. It goes into a dream sequence which went long, weird and confusing. Kinda like puberty. It was filled with numerous outlandish shenanigans in between. Many many weird and almost creepy concepts of dream world. And it's just too whimsical and freaky to actually be enjoyable. Well at least in my eyes. I mean it had a couple of good moments. The drag racing bit, the carnival bit, it was all nice and funny. But that dream sequence is so influental and lurid it was the only memorable thing in the whole episode. I guess I could say it's concepts are creative, but it was way too exaggerated. Pity. Knowing that this episode had a great concept to start with.

One of those episodes that went downhill. I like the idea of SpongeBob pretending to be dumb in front of Patrick. It proved to be a very good concept when perfectly executed. As SpongeBob shows his brilliant act, Patrick shows his clueless charm. Combining to make the perfect comedic reaction. However, once Patrick completely forgets about the entire plan, it somehow gets a bit annoying. I believe it wasn't much of Pat's fault. But Janet and Marty are irritating. Especially in the end when we found out that they didn't have a son. Making the whole thing a bit pointless and wasteful for SpongeBob. Who sacrificed his dignity for a friend. Speaking of SpongeBob, I couldn't get enough of his idiot acts. Absolutely genius. The slapstick works so well with the concept in this episode, it's unbelievable.

As a whole, it had a pretty good concept. Many funny dialogues and brilliant slapstick from SpongeBob. It's just that it would be better if the 2 fake parents acknowledged SpongeBob's honesty. I can understand Patrick being a dummy, but when the other 2 starts gagging along, it gets itchy. It does produce some funny one-liners from the starfishes. It's just that the 3 are too brutally stupid to be enjoyed. Another pity. Considering that the first half of the episode is really funny and enjoyable. To see SpongeBob establishing the situation and explaining his genuine actions to sacrifice his self-regard just to get the best out of his best friend. It's an episode with a refreshing concept. A good plot. But the episode took the wrong route towards the end. It turns out the main plot came 5 minutes before the end. And it's annoying. Wow, things turned out terribly for this episode. It's one of those episode that sliced bread on it's peak. But then it made a mistake ...

I loved Procrastination. Not IWS so much, though.

I really love Procrastination! I like the relateability of it, and I actually like the creepy dream sequence.

In my honest opinion, I found I'm With Stupid horrible. While the first half (and the ending) was good and funny, Patrick annoyed the heck out of me. The twist at the end was wasted and dumb, Patrick acted like a total jerk to his best friend, and it was just all out bad. (It's actually my 4th least favorite)

I love Procrastination mostly for how relatable it is. Basically everything SpongeBob does in that episode is something I've done while trying to avoid work, though of course not as extreme. I actually love SpongeBob's dream sequence, it's my favorite part of the episode, but then again I love weird, trippy, nightmarish imagery in animation, which is why I always love dream/nightmare sequences like that.

I'm With Stupid... God, I hate this episode. While I can admit that the episode does have some really funny bits, it's too mean-spirited for me to like it at all. Plus, I can't help feeling like the episode sort of condones making fun of the mentally challenged. I'm sure that's not what the writers were going for at all, but it could very easily be misconstrued that way, especially for kids.

I don't remember Procrastination but I think I loved that episode. It's probably an A- episode. (not an A because I didn't like the ending)

I'm With Stupid is actually my least favorite pre-movie episode but It has a few funny part. I gave it a D+.

I can understand what you're saying about both Procrastination and I'm With Stupid, but I would switch their grades, to be honest.

I actually completely agree with both. I feel the same way with both episodes, but I'm not AS hateful towards I'm With Stupid.

In the interest of fairness I did actually revise I'm With Stupid. I watch it again and decided it didn't really deserve a B. So I decided that aclose B- would do.

The old saying goes : Fortune favors the brave. Which means, if you're brave and bold enough to do what you think is the right thing to do, the results of your brave actions will be worth it. This is the situation facing our writers when the original idea of this episode comes. Will it be liked? In the end, they decided to send this episode to air anyway. A brave action considering the general idea of this episode is incredibly bold. The result? A spectacular episode. A revolution? Perhaps not. Cartoons aren't focused on younger audience since back in the 40s. So this would be more of a revival of identity. But alas, it was fantastic. The plot, the story, the humour, the execution. All : flawless. And I'm giving special mentions for the humour. From the start (You shouldn't talk about Squidward like that!) it showed potential, and held on.

The coolness of this episode is on another galaxy. SpongeBob and Patrick swearing. As a guy who swears a lot, I find it brilliant for a story. And the writers then add Krabs to balance the episode cohesion. Making sure that the episode don't go too far. Krabs is the most crucial character in this episode. Counterveiling the brash nature of the story. So this episode is basically flawless. Balanced, yet bold. An episode that, I reckon, have just smashed itself to the top of the episode table. I mean Band Geeks is pretty much technically adequate to match Sailor Mouth. But I'm giving Sailor Mouth the nod for it's timeless and audacious plot. It's valiant story. And how it can actually work.

This episode is basically a remake of The Paper. It has the same basic concept of role and humour. SpongeBob is the gullible creative hero. Squidward as the uncreative narcissist who got indignant at SpongeBob for making him look completely talentless. Which is basically like FOX News criticizing Rupert Murdoch for making their lies look amateur. Similar to The Paper's role concept, don't you think? Only this time, it is played out in a more enticing environment that actually has the materials to be a full 11 minute episode. The results, a much more entertaining episode. With a story 10 times better. The only thing fails at is a bit of indirect lesson. An art The Paper masters. This episode is more of a full armed comedy. And boy was it full armed.

It's a static episode. 2 characters (SB and Squid) featuring in the same set for most of the episode. Reminds me of Graveyard Shift. This one is a bit more dynamic, story-wise, but doesn't have Graveyard Shift's level of charming chemistry between SB and Squid. Partly because this time, the 2 characters are in different role. In order to build the story. But in simple terms, this episode is still high class. Lots of funny moments that didn't get repetitive. Creative gags. Nice story. Great conflict. Not as flawless and valiant as the episode 5 minuted before it. But a high class one, still. An episode that once again proves that when you put SpongeBob and Squidward together and build an episode from there, you will almost certainly succeed.

Woah, Sailor Mouth beat Shanghaied and Band Geeks and it's STILL not an A+? I wonder what is an A+...

I actually like Artist Unknown more than Sailor Mouth, but great review as always.

Both are wonderful episodes and among my favorites, though I personally prefer Artist Unknown a tad more, probably because I'm a sucker for pre-movie episodes centering on SpongeBob and Squidward.

An A+ episode is an episode that can attract me as much as a poisonous gigantic jerboa. I have yet to see such perfection so far.

Do you mean that an A+ episode has yet to appear on the list, or that you've never seen an A+ episode at all?
