The "claustrophobia" joke is slightly changed in German. Since it's "Klaustrophobisch" in German, the pun is Squidward being afraid of guys named "Klaus".

That said, "Squid Defence" proves he can fight if he really needs to
 
Squidward is like Piers Morgan.

He can mock, insult and spit out nasty, brutally honest comments about anything. But punch him in the face, and he won't sue.
 
In a Spongebob game, Squidward is pretty strong (he's the final battle ironically, and Sandy not, she's second after Patrick who's the first battle):

He's a guy that rather stay out of trouble even if it's bitterly. You may push Squidward's buttons and have yourself kicked out of his house or whatever, but he probably wouldn't fight you. Unless it's for self defense and in that case pretty much anyone would fight back.
