WOW! Not bad! Not bad at ALL! 8D

There's a lot of times where SpongeBob's design (well, his face) hasn't translated well on a 3D model. Whenever he makes facial expressions in video games, they look very awkward and off-putting...*coughespeciallyinglobsofdoomcough* I hope they did a good job making the characters expressive without losing their likeness.

And I also hope this attraction comes closer to a place I can ride it! >.<

I was excited when i clicked on this topic but i found out it was just another Spongebob 4-D ride. I thought it was a new spongebob special coming to TV but i guess not. )=

Gotta love the sparkle in SB's CGI eyes.

About.com article: Are You Ready Kids for SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D?

And another article that reads like an official press release so probably is:

SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D - The Great Jelly Rescue Attraction Makes its North American Debut April 19
4-D Attraction to Premiere at Orlando's Nickelodeon Suites Resort

An all-new 4-D attraction film SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D – The Great Jelly Rescue debuts April 19 at the Nickelodeon Suites Resort, in Orlando, Fla. Created in partnership with attraction powerhouse SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment, creative studio Super 78 and Nickelodeon, this new offering brings the undersea adventures of the smash hit animated series SpongeBob SquarePants to life through a brand-new 4-D attraction. The previous and highly successful SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D was released over 10 years ago.
The seven-minute experience will incorporate dazzling in-theater and in-seat 4-D effects including bubbles and scents as well as a few special surprises that truly give an immersive look into the world of SpongeBob SquarePants. The attraction delivers a series of alternate scenes each featuring their own unique 4-D effects. These can be randomly played, allowing guests the opportunity to enjoy a slightly different experience each time they visit.
The 4-D Attraction joins SpongeBob with his friends in tow on a rollicking adventure when the villainous Plankton abducts all the Jellyfish with his pollution-belching contraption. It is up to SpongeBob SquarePants to save the day, free the Jellyfish and destroy Plankton’s terrible machine. See how SpongeBob’s big heart puts him oceans above the rest!

“SpongeBob fans will love this hilarious encounter that brings them face to face with swarms of Jellies, giant ghostly pirate ships and Plankton’s biggest threat to the Krusty Krab — a massive electric cannon,” said Brent Young, Director and Producer. The experience will blow the guests away. It’s 3-D at its best!”
“This unique 4-D experience shares a conservation message using a charming storyline,” said Mark Cornell, Senior Vice President, SimEx-Iwerks Attractions Development. “Further, we have created pre-show elements that highlight the conservation message in the 4-D experience, all brought to life by linking these popular characters to their ocean counterparts.”
“We are excited to bring this new 4-D Experience to our clients around the world,” said Mike Frueh, Senior Vice President, SimEx-Iwerks, Licensing & Distribution. “The SpongeBob SquarePants brand is one of the best in the business and its wide demographic appeal, and action-packed scenes will make this a success in any venue.”
“SpongeBob SquarePants is an iconic and beloved property, with a global fan base,” said Gerald Raines, Vice President, Recreation Business Development, Nickelodeon Group. “This new experience, which integrates 3-D technology and dazzling in-theater effects, will engage fans all over the world with a positive and entertaining message.”
“The Nick Hotel is proud to be home to SpongeBob SquarePants and to be the location for the world premiere of his latest production,” said Louis Robbins, Managing Director, Nickelodeon Suites Resort. “Our guests, young and old, adore SpongeBob and we are thrilled to debut this film for them to enjoy during their stay.”
The 4-D experience will also premiere at SeaLife in Birmingham, UK (April 19), Parque De Atracciones Madrid (early April), the South Carolina Aquarium (May 20), Mystic Aquarium (May 26), and the Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas.
Included is a nice big version of the poster. Spoiler tagged because it's so huge.

Again: WOOOOOOOOOW! Everything looks so soft~! I'm impressed with the textures, especially with the jellyfishing net. They forgot Plankton's eyebrow and the rest of the flowers on Patrick trunks, though. Perhaps this was made before everything on their models were finalized? Even if it wasn't, it doesn't take away too much.

SpongeBob's kelp diet is really doing wonders to his figure!
And all that physical therapy has paid off, he finally has full control of his arms.

Hard to concentrate on what they're saying with SpongeBob goofing around right there so I had to listen to it in another tab ... sorry SpongeBob. :P

The footage in the video SandTara05 posted looks really great. :D

The perfume department! All of my YES! :funny: When the perfume was mentioned in one of the videos, I was wondering if the perfume department was going to be in the ride. That makes me was to see this even more! :D

Squidward's eyelids are so dark in that last pic...his face is reminds me of Grumpy Cat. x3 And I wonder if there will be a musical number in that part, it looks like they're singing and dancing.

The attraction is talked about in this podcast, including another interview with Brent Young. Skip to 37:20 to get to the SpongeBob part.
