This article has a pic that reveals the main characters' designs.

Just like the Winnie the Pooh movie from 2011 or whatever that was a necessary thing to watch even though nobody cares at all about Pooh, the same is true here. Nobody cares about MLP at all and it's a really low quality show, but everyone NEEDS to watch!!! If you give it a good opening weekend, traditional animation will have a place in theaters again!!!! So you have to at least buy a ticket, sitting through it is optional and not recommended.

So anyway, I hate MLP but I look forward to the return of 2D animation. Because of this most likely awful movie, the live action Disney remakes will die, CG crap like Frozen will die, and we'll get masterpieces like the original SpongeBob Movie and The Lion King again!!!! :)

(Note: Sponge Out of Water was mostly a 2D animation perfection film, but the downside of that was the marketing. Executives still don't believe that 2D has a place and are so delusional that they think the film only did well because of all the 3D in the ads, when really it would have done even better if the ads only showed 2D. I'm not talking badness about Sponge Out of Water at all, only the ads for it.)

So anyway, yeah. Traditional animation is returning and world peace will directly follow!!! ;)

I miss traditional animation in theaters, but even I, a 17 year old who stays up until 4AM to record "Blue's Clues" reruns on VHS, even have limits on what the ::dolphin noise:: he'll watch, and "My Little Pony" is far beyond that limit.

I never expected a movie of this

I agree, that's why I say pay for a movie ticket and then don't bother going to see it. The money will still go towards supporting traditional animation. I personally plan on watching the trailers, paying for a ticket and not watching it, and watching a few scenes on mute when it's available in home media. :)

hates mlp but still posts a topic about it

OMG YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THIS

I'd post a topic about Steven Universe, Gumball, Adventure Time, Regular Show, or any of the other bad shows if they were getting a traditionally animated theatrical film. We need a film to bring back hand drawn animation and I'll accept any, no matter how awful (as long as the animation is good).

Funny, since I remember you liking MLP two years ago. Or are you just a troll who only likes TTG, cause I wouldn't be surprised.

You're thinking of SpongeBob.

don't argue with him. It's getting nowhere.

anyway, I couldn't care less about this since I'm not intro MLP but good for fans really. They are going to see their movie on big screen. Can't imagine their excitement. Plus it could give us more 2D animated movies (not that I'm against to 3D animated movies but darn it I miss 2D animated movies), so I hope this will be a success.

I prefer CGI to hand-drawn most of the time, it would be nice to see 2D animation back in cinemas, but I will not be paying to see this.

There's no way the MLP movie will make a billion dollars like Frozen did and The Jungle Book almost did.

2D is better than 3D and this WILL beat Frozen. The Jungle Book is the worst thing ever.

i am so exited we need to celebrate

Designs look decent enough. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

2D Traditional is good, but it´s something that people rarely see these days and I DON´T miss it. CGI is much, much harder to animate then 2D Traditional but no one does the Cel Animation anymore and it´s ok that MLP is going into that direction...

One day it will make comebacks, no one complains about claymation being rarely used.

Pretty sure the only reason 2D films are made anymore is when they’re adaptations of already popular animated series. (Well, with the obvious exception of The Princess and the Frog.)
