My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

It's a decent show, I like it. I can see why little kids are so attached to it because of the colors and the high pitched voiced ponies. (more of Pinkie Pie)
 
I don't exactly get why I'd ever watch this show, or really anything on the Hub.

I admit it's not something I watch that much and only recently decided to give more of a chance to but compared to a lot of shows with that kind of demographic in mind, it's a lot better than what it possibly would have been. The other show that I kind of watched that's on The Hub is that SheZow thing and I hated it so much. Terrible Flash animation and just really really weird altogether. I know nothing about Littlest Pet Shop or Pound Puppies but those are the other Hub shows I've heard about.

It used to be Discovery Kids so that was when they were airing shows like Kenny the Shark, Time Warp Trio, Tutenstein, Growing Up Creepie and The Magic School Bus if you're familiar with any of those. Last time I checked what was on The Hub, they were actually showing Tiny Toons (it also used to be on Nick and Nicktoons TV back in the day) so it seems like they have other shows to watch to appeal to people.

EDIT: Just looked at The Hub's schedule for tomorrow and they show a lot more stuff than I thought. They have Family Ties early in the morning, some Tiny Toons, some Animaniacs, a bunch of Transformers shows, Sister Sister reruns, Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake. They show Goosebumps and a show called Sabrina Secrets of a Teenage Witch on weekends.
 
The Hub, at the moment, shows better programming than Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, to me at least.
 
The season finale aired... it was pretty awesome.

You know, no one seems to talk much about who their favorite ponies are on this thread. I know SBM!!! likes Twilight Sparkle, and I'm going to take a wild guess and say homestuck likes Rarity, but what about the rest of you? Who's your favorite? Who's your least favorite? I'm just curious.
 
This is something I've wanted to know for a while now, but how come they use a different voice actor whenever Twilight sings? Tara Strong can sing rather well (she was Meg's singing voice in the Family Guy episode, Don't Make Me Over).

I'm not sure, but I'm not complaining lol. Her SA has a stunning voice

She embraces femininity in a way that isn't stereotypical. She doesn't just like shopping and fashion, she makes dresses and owns the shop that all of those cliches go shopping at.

Not your target audience = \ = not something you can enjoy. I think you should give things a try before judging them, really
 
I really like the episodes with Nightmare Moon and some episodes like Dragonshy, Bridle Gossip(I like Flutterguy as Spike says), Baby Cakes, Read It And Weep and Rainbow Falls, but I don't really like The Return Of Harmony.(I really like Discord and I suggest Hasbro make a Discord Toy.) :|

I think that Season 4 finale is giving me even more motivation to really keep watching the show and go to binge watch mode over it just to see how awesome that particular episode is.

lol, I like her because she is feminine in all of the typical ways, and that's not a bad thing. So often when shows have "girly" characters they make them shallow and ditzy and generally unlikable. Rarity embraces being girly, and she's still smart, kind, funny, brave and likable. Characters like this are a rarity (sorry I had to).

I think it's because besides Tara Strong, the entire voice cast (both singing and speaking) is based in Canada. From what I know, the songs (or actual dialogue, I'm not sure) are recorded ensemble, so instead of having to keep flying Tara Strong to Nova Scotia and back to record her singing voice, they get someone else to do it. Kind of strange, but that's how it works anyway.

Have you even watched the Season 2 finale yet? It's also pretty cool although not as big in scope as this one appears to be (I haven't seen it, either).
 
I think you should probably start from Season 1 and watch the show in order. I despise it when people are like "you should start at _______" like lol no, start at the beginning

He is (and so did I when I first watched this series), I was just wondering if he got to that point yet because I think it was a good episode.

Not yet. Halfway thru season 1. I like having more free time to do this.
