Is gross out good in spongebob?

I am leaning toward the no side, even though they have used some gross out the right way, like the appetizer, the nasty patty, even a slid out toenail and the "DOES THIS LOOK UNSURE TO YOU?" face. But there is a lot of BAD gross out, like the moldy patty in To Love a Patty, The Splinter filled up with pus, and that imfamous SpongeBob face
