"Doing Time" episode question

This is a really stupid question, but here goes:

In the episode "Doing Time", in the scene after Spongebob attempts to rob the bank and he and Patrick are walking home, Spongebob says, "Well, that went better than I expected.", and then Patrick said, "Yeah, I didn't think we'd get Mrs. Puff out of jail this fast." After he said that, Spongebob stopped walking and his eyes popped out of his sock mask in shock.

I was just wondering why Spongebob did that. Was it because he couldn't believe that Patrick thought they already got Mrs. Puff out of jail, or something else?

It was because SpongeBob basically forgot that the plan was to get into jail by robbing the bank, and he was reminded of this plan when Patrick mentioned Mrs. Puff. Basically he realized they hadn't made any progress. :)
