Did spongebob and Patrick really deserve the punishment in Pranks A Lot?

Well, the punishment was a little harsh but then again, SpongeBob and Patrick were scaring people by entering their houses. So I'm a little mixed on the ending but it doesn't bother me that much. It was funny too.

SpongeBob and Patrick did NOT deserve what they got in POL because it's not like they were trying to drive the people they scared to suicide like Mr. Krabs did to Plankton in OCM.

No...because Pranks a Lot was the last episode before the movie. I would have hated the ending if they just ended the show like that, but honestly, at the same time, I can't help but think it's funny.
