Maybe since animation was his professional job, he wanted to his name to be credited in a formal fashion. Maybe for episodes he doesn't care too much about, he was credited as Doug Lawrence, to make it informal. Or maybe it's just a running gag never addressed before. :shifty:
I seem to recall reading an interview in Nickelodeon Magazine once where he stated some friends started calling him Mr. Lawrence when he got his first gig in animation and that he's been credited as such ever since.
