According to my calculations, the SpongeBob Movie takes place in 2035 at the earliest

SpongeBob was born in 1986, and since he lived on his own in Help Wanted he must have been at least 18. According to the amount of employee of the month awards he had in the movie, he had been working there for 31 years. 1986 + 18 + 31 = 2035

EDIT: Actually it's 2039 if we account for the break in his consecutive awards in Breath of Fresh Squidward.
 
There was also that time when Squidward got the employee of the month award instead of him in that very annoying episode known as Breath of Fresh Squidward, while SpongeBob clearly says "consecutive Employee of the Month Awards".


Maybe he started counting after that incident?
 
SpongeBob would be 11 in 1997, when the pilot with the completely different intro was made, and 12 in May 1st, 1999.

I think The 1st movie takes place in a different continuity. While most of the series and the 2nd movie take place during Samurai Jack
