At first, I hated the ending, but now that I think of it, it's not really that bad. The ending is really just more mixed to me than anything personally. Something I hadn't really thought of at first is that it is Spongebob himself going into people's dreams, not a seperate dream self like I had thought of it as before. So it's really Spongebob himself going into people's dreams and ruining them, when he should have stayed in his own dream. Regardless, I'm still just mixed with it though, as it has some flaws. Why are Gary and Pearl mad at Spongebob? All Spongebob did was show up in them, he didn't do anything wrong. And neither of them minded him being there during the dream. So why are they mad? The rest of them kinda have a reason to be mad though since Spongebob did ruin their dream for whatever reason. Espicially Plankton, since Spongebob didn't even ruin the dream by accident, he intentinally became a needle just to ruin his dream. And since they were onlymad because Spongebob intentinally went into their dreams, it doesn't mean they get mad by being in the dream at all, just when he purposly shows up himself. It also has a funny joke there too, with Patrick asking for a quarter rather than being mad. So yeah, nowadays I'm more mixed with it, It's an ok ending and not as good as the rest of the episode, but not really a very major flaw either. Plus the episode can't really be taken too seriously either, it feels relaxing and is about Spongebob going into other's dreams, it's not really anything to take seriously.

And since I already made that, might as well say my thoughts on the rest of the episode too. Personally, I think this episode is great. It has amazing atmosphere, it feels very peaceful, and the dreams themselves all not only have great atmosphere, but are all really cool and what you'd expect them to dream about. It's very fun to watch the episode because of this, I love all the dreams and what the characters do in them. The episode also has some of the best season 1 visuals, has many funny jokes, and is the origin of :sbfunny:. Overall, I'll give it a 9.5/10. Slightly harmed by a just okay ending, but the rest of this is great and very fun to watch. Yeah that might have been slightly shorter than usual, but I mainly made this post for the first paragraph, and I just figured I'd share the reat of my thoughts on the episode too.

This is still a really great episode to me. It provides a unique take that other SpongeBob episodes don't have, with both the dream concept and bringing many different characters. Like how many times do we get Squidward, Pearl, and Plankton? Other than the story, the episode is really funny too, with jokes that keep coming and coming. 9/10

I love this episode. It has a great vibe, and some of the dreams SpongeBob went into were really good. Not to mention how funny this episode was.

So, SpongeBob becomes a dream walker and experiences the dreams of the core cast (as designed by Hillenberg, so Larry, Puff, and Karen don't get turns), visiting each one and somehow ruining most of them, ultimately ruining Plankton's nightmare deliberately. A highlight for me is Gary's impersonation of the late Richard Haydn (the Caterpillar from the original 1951 Alice in Wonderland) in his dream-self, which should have been used again. One thing I don't understand is why Pearl and Gary complain that their dreams were ruined. 7/10

I really enjoyed this one. It was fun seeing all the places Spongebob traveled to and what the characters of the show dream about. There were a lot of good jokes and I feel they took the idea to it's fullest potential. The whole idea of the episode makes it so they could get as creative as they wanted with the settings. The only real nitpick I have about this episode is that it does feel a bit unfocused, but due to the whole nature of the episode it can't really be helped. Other than that it's a really interesting and cool episode.

Great episode (9/10)

This used to be my favorite of season 1. I don't like it as much now, but this still has great charm. I really love the idea here, the "going into people's dreams" is a plot that has been used a lot in shows (at least from what I remember), and I love the plot. I think Sandy's Dream was really funny for some reason, along with Patrick's dream.

It was a great episode IMO. I would have rated 10/10 if it wasn't for the ending. So I gave it 9/10

Time to update this old review that I have no memory of making. Seriously, why did I randomly review Sleepy Time? Who knows. Anyway, my opinions haven't strayed very far from this review, other than the score I give the episode (and therefore its tier), is slightly lower, so let's talk about it.

It's funny, seeing this review after the premiere of "Dream Hoppers". I still think this episode is pretty unique compared to other episodes of SpongeBob, just because we don't really spend a lot of time on this show with the characters sleeping. Also, I think this episode is the first time we see every main character in one episode????? Karen's only there for a second but she's there! So let's go, that's super fun.

I think this episode is a great character exploration episode. I mean, with each dream we see, we see something new (or already known) about our main characters. We've got a lovely exploration of my favorite snail, we've got more about Sandy, Squidward, Plankton, and Mr. Krabs' hopes, we've got what Pearl finds relaxing, and we've got Patrick being Patrick. I think this episode does a great job showcasing each person's dream without the episode feeling too busy or crowded, given that there's only 11 minutes for all of these different scenes.

If anything, the episode is rather dull, and I think that's because there aren't as many amazing jokes as there usually are. I still love this episode though, and it belongs right on my "Great" tier. One last thing I wanted to mention is that SpongeBob is once again super cute in this episode, especially during his dream. Also the way he defends Gary against Plankton, love that.

Episode Tier: Great
Episode Score:
8.8/10
