Time to update this old review that I have no memory of making. Seriously, why did I randomly review Sleepy Time? Who knows. Anyway, my opinions haven't strayed very far from this review, other than the score I give the episode (and therefore its tier), is slightly lower, so let's talk about it.This is still a really great episode to me. It provides a unique take that other SpongeBob episodes don't have, with both the dream concept and bringing many different characters. Like how many times do we get Squidward, Pearl, and Plankton? Other than the story, the episode is really funny too, with jokes that keep coming and coming. 9/10
this used to be my fav episode, i liked the concept of exploring the character's dreams, and seeing how they thinkTime to update this old review that I have no memory of making. It's funny, seeing this review after the premiere of "Dream Hoppers". I still think this episode is pretty unique compared to other episodes of SpongeBob, just because we don't really spend a lot of time on this show with the characters sleeping. Also, I think this episode is the first time we see every main character in one episode????? Karen's only there for a second but she's there! So let's go, that's super fun.
I think this episode is a great character exploration episode. I mean, with each dream we see, we see something new (or already known) about our main characters. We've got a lovely exploration of my favorite snail, we've got more about Sandy, Squidward, Plankton, and Mr. Krabs' hopes, we've got what Pearl finds relaxing, and we've got Patrick being Patrick. I think this episode does a great job showcasing each person's dream without the episode feeling too busy or crowded, given that there's only 11 minutes for all of these different scenes.
If anything, the episode is rather dull, and I think that's because there aren't as many amazing jokes as there usually are. I still love this episode though, and it belongs right on my "Great" tier. One last thing I wanted to mention is that SpongeBob is once again super cute in this episode, especially during his dream. Also the way he defends Gary against Plankton, love that.
Episode Tier: Great
