I'm just feeling weird right now and want to vent about how much times have changed. Share the memories and struggles of things that are now considered of the past or just totally obsolete.

It's weird thinking all the DVD's on my shelf are about to become a thing of the past as digital streaming is on the rise. I still love using my VCR/DVD player and buying CD's and games on discs. Games are digital now which can be much more convenient, but something about having a case and popping in the disc with pretty cover art just feels so magical and I don't get that same feeling when I stream something.

Another thing I think about are how before you could just put a game into the console and play it immediately, but nowadays, you have to download it, even with a disc.

Alright, your turn to share. :)

When you're talking about the Dvds and Cds on your shelf and how they may become obsolete, I feel the Same way! You all may consider me a Dinosaur! I Still buy Dvds. I Still buy cds annnnd I still use my DS Lite and Playstation 2 to play Monster Rancher 2! I seamlessly couldn’t move on to the latest, newest things. Like Allll the new Nintendo Ds handhelds, the Sony's Playstations 3, 4 and possibly 5 IF It comes out! People are getting rid of Cds for either Vinyl or streaming, and like you've said, having a case and popping in the disc with pretty cover art just feels so magical. Having a physical copy of a music or game is just so much nicer.

I do not like our future. And here I was thinking that we'd have flying cars in the future.

Back in my day Windows was capable of running older Win NT/95 games like Jezzball & Destruction Derby 2 and you didn't need DOSBox to run DOS games.

Back in my Day i just enjoyed life.

Serious note: I get what you're coming from especially in the games part. Like example the whole Spyro conterversy with you must download extra because the levels are incomplete in disc. Although the Indrustry must consider once those servers are dead those updates are lost, unless backed up by people, release the game with all the updates intacted, I'm aware some do, but not every single game does, same goes with apps.

Agreed. I have so many DVDs, but I doubt that I'll live long enough to have them become worth a lot of money haha. Online streaming is great, but something about having physical copies, much like with books, just feels better.

Back in my day...it was a simpler time where you didn't worry about playing in the streets and electronics didn't really exist as advanced as they are today where no one can live without them...
