Honestly, I'm surprised by this step in direction, I knew Butch was interested in being more independent with his future creations, but I never imagined he'd go so far as to create his own streaming service. Wonder if the Noog Network will be shutdown?

Imagine being this desperate for money

EDIT: Yeah I'm a proud Christian family man and no inappropriate material shall be seen on this streaming service. Now let's go kill all the gays.

Look, I understand there are radical Christians out there with that ideology, but this is ridiculous. As a Christian myself, I could care less if you're gay. Your character is what matters, if you chose to be a homosexual, whatever, live your life however you want. This is absolute rubbish, it's the equivalent to assuming all Muslims want to commit terroristic attacks. I understand your frustration with hypocritical Christians, and maybe this is simply a sarcastic remark on the video. I'm simply weighing in my own opinion on the situation, and I hope you can look at not just non-radical Christians, but really anyone with a good heart with more of an opened mind.

I am making a joke about the crazy radical Christians and reading the kickstarter.

Actually looking at all the things he plans to do with it though, it seems very ambitious. Sure many of the shows he’s planning could be secret for the meantime, but Oaxis needs a strong foundation if it’s going to hope to compete with Netflix.

Okay let's be honest, who watches TV anymore? Exactly, almost nobody. Many people stream shows using Amazon, iTunes, Hulu and Netflix, Vudu, you name it (both Hulu and Netflix don't have any Nick shows though), so deciding to create a new network isn't really the best decision. Also, isn't it a bit jarring to see that the man, Butch Hartman, you know, the guy who has made so many cartoons on Nickelodeon and worked there for over 20 years, to just suddenly want to create another network, or is it just me?

I feel like this is a long-range project he's worked on overtime. He experimented with this kind of thing around the time he came out with the Noog Network around 2015 or so (A time none of his shows were doing well on Nick), and given how terribly the company has treated his work (Regardless of quality, just the pure uncaring sloppy airing schedule for FOP Seasons 9/10 & the poor treatment of BiaB!), this is probably a further evolution of his initial Noog Network concept, a way for him to continue to release original entertainment, while having that core interaction with his "Hartfans" that had made him an online personality.

Okay :dunno:

There's still not a problem with it, your sexuality isn't what matters, it's your character.

It's actually worse because then you have to pay for a crap ton of stremaing services instead of just one, and that would end up as an even bigger problem.
I’m not saying this is good for subscribers financially, I’m just saying that I don’t want Netflix to become too powerful for anyone to handle. Oaxis seems poorly thought-out and has nothing in the way of support sure, but I’d say it’s more exciting to see Butch do this than to make a show for Netflix and feed into their growth.

Does there honestly need to be any competition, though? If it's going to succeed as a streaming service, Oaxis would benefit from establishing its own image that makes it distinguished, as opposed to emulating a formula like Netflix in hopes of someday being at a level in which it can be viewed as competition. And honestly, I don't see Oaxis becoming a noteworthy competitor for Netflix at any point in the future. Nothing will top Netflix, and I highly doubt that Oaxis will be sought out by many as it is. But who knows? Give it time, and maybe more people will flood there, but the numbers won't make a dent on Netflix's legacy, in my opinion.

This is going to fail. He's promising way too much that he has no ability to deliver on and hasn't even announced a single series. This should've just been advertised as the home of a new show, like that Elf Detective thing he's been promoting or one of the Noog Network shorts as a full series or something. Showing absolutely no shows at all, yet promising things like cartoons, drama shows, sitcoms, cooking shows, home and garden shows, sports, and other stuff is just setting himself up to underdeliver. What he should've done is make it the home to two or three cartoons, make a short two or three minute pilot for them and show them off to make people actually have interest in it. Then he can say if the network is successful, he might try some other stuff outside of cartoons. What he's promising cannot be done for $250,000.

Nobody has ever said to themselves "I want to watch a home and garden show, but it should be produced by the creator of The Fairly OddParents." His name adds nothing to content that's so different than what he's worked on in the past. He should just focus on cartoons since that's the only thing anyone knows him for.

Also, the focus on families makes no sense. He's making this pitch for adults with kids, but most of his fans are in their late teens or early 20s. They can't relate to needing appropriate content to show their kids. Even if they have kids, they view of what's "appropriate" is different from Butch's generation to a younger generation. There's nobody who wants what he's promoting here.

PieGuy did a pretty good video on this and I agreed with it. Even though he has some pretty wrong opinions about SpongeBob, he still made good points here.
