I have a friend who's making Battle for Bikini Bottom!

I have a friend who is currently remaking Spongebob battle for Bikini Bottom in HD. He's not just going to add new levels, but he has more plans than that. I see things like this happen all the time in every fanbase. Parapla the Rapper 3, Mother 4 (winter 2014), half life 3... all fangames that don't come to fruition. I'm not criticizing your friend, but it'll probably end up not happening. And due to that announcement of old Nick games coming to new platforms it'll probably happen anyway officially.

At best, I’m expecting this to go in the Sonic Mania direction, where fans want to add to a classic franchise, and the company responsible for said franchise somehow lets them.

Considering that THQ Nordic already stated they were going to release a remaster/remake soon, I don't see this getting very far.. But your friend seems like a very talented person. I wish nick or THQ doesn't take this down.
