Did you guys hear about this show? Personally, it seems like a TTG ripoff to me. Both have very similar names and both are comedic versions of superhero shows with cartoon-y artstyles.

It might be good possibly, though. Personally, the original ThunderCats is one of the absolute most disgusting and horrible “cartoons” I’ve ever had the immense displeasure of having viewed. Everything about it is horrendous and makes me disgusted and it along with garbage like He-Man ruined animation for years and years, but it was eventually saved in the 90s. It’s still a terrible show and it makes me sick to look at, so I’m glad that this show is nothing like the original garbage, but at the same time, it is based on the original garbage, so I dislike it a little for that. Hopefully it makes fun of the original like TTG does and makes funny jokes about how the original ruined animation in the 80s in the same way Frozen almost ruined it in the 2010s.

ThunderLOLCats is the best incarnation of the Thundercats

I can understand how the artstyle turns off some people, but I'm curious to see more of this.

also the intro animated by studio yotta was pretty slick

The designs alone really show how different 2010s animation is from the 1980s. We’ve sacraficed unique breeds of art styles for better, mostly creator-driven, writing. Was it a fair trade?

I'm getting TTG/Ben 10/OK KO vibes from the art style, possibly overthinking it on at least one of those but it feels like such an odd combination that I won't be surprised to see fail, especially since Thundercats was a more serious property, right? At least failing in terms of online reception.

But 80s shows didn't look unique at all. They all had the same hideous "realistic" style and had no artistic freedom whatsoever. Not saying that this reboot looks unique, it's very similar to a lot of shows nowadays and I personally think a lot of shows from this decade look too fat and rounded, including this. But it certainly has more artistic freedom than shows like the original trashy ThunderCats, He-Man, TMNT, Jem and the Holograms and all the millions of other abominations that are a disgrace to animation ever did. You can tell the artists working on most shows nowadays are having fun, whereas if you listen to a talented artist that worked on animation in the 80s, they talk like they wanted to kill themselves and that the perfection of 90s cartoons saved them.

Anyway, personally, I think it looks so far from the original that it probably shouldn't have been rebooted. It reminds me of that horrible hack that did that horrible Flintstones reboot comic for DC and it was all "realistic" and horrible. You could tell he hated The Flintstones and wanted to turn the original cartoon-y and funny show into something just terrible, with realistic art and dramatic terrible stories with dumb emotional stuff. This seem kinda similar, but reversed, turning something totally horrible into something slightly decent, but I don't see the point in using the original franchise for a show like this.

Lol it looks like ok ko and Steven universe. You know that stupid image of that has the smiling faces and it's like all off model characters. Eventually we will soon reach that point but with on model characters. I mean the intro is slick af tho so maybe it'll be alright

CN needs to stop making reboots. They are terrible at making reboots.

Okay, so I've never watched any of the Thundercats cartoons, but going off of what little I know of it, the art style doesn't seem to stay true to the action-y, adventure-y, heroic tone of the previous cartoons, and it looks as though this reboot will be going a less action, more comedic route like TTG and the PPG reboot.

However, I do think people are overreacting waaaaay too much over a single image when we currently don't know too much about the show itself. For all we know, it could end up being pretty good (Of course, CN doesn't exactly have the best track record when it comes to reboots sooo... :sbdisappointed: ). Either way, it's best for now to wait for more information to come out before we get too worked up over it.
