“SpongeBob SquarePants” leads the 2017-2018 Outer Critics Circle list with 11 nominations.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” followed with 10 nominations and “My Fair Lady” brought in nine nominations. The nominations, which were announced Tuesday, honor off Broadway and Broadway productions and are decided by a group of writers who cover theater for out-of-town or national publications.

The winners will be announced Mon., May 7.

Among best musical contenders, “The Band’s Visit” was not eligible for the awards this year as it won several awards from the Outer Critics Circle last season.

Although I’m not as invested in the music as other fans, it’s cool seeing it garner all these accolades.

Would've been nominated for more awards if the play was themed after Dear Vikings.
