While SpongeBob went downhill from 2005 to 2013, there are many ::dolphin noise::ty, cruel SpongeBob episodes that when too far, causing major hatred and loss of old SpongeBob fans.

Why 2010 is tragic for SpongeBob SquarePants (both the character and its series)? Because:

  1. A Pal for Gary aired for the first time in Friday, 1 January 2010, triggering a fiery hatred of this ::dolphin noise::ty episode.
  2. One Coarse Meal aired in Thursday, 25 March 2010, which is a Creepypasta version of a SpongeBob episode. It's the same as APFG.
  3. Yours, Mine and Mine was aired on Saturday, 11 September 2010, the 9th anniversary of the Osama Bin Laden attacks in 2001. It reveals the betrayal of Patrick to SpongeBob by not sharing the patty toy to SpongeBob., and it doesn't represent the friendship of SB and Pat.
This proves that these episodes have started a huge hatred by fans, especially me. This disaster happened 7 months before My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic aired at Hub at October 10, 2010. Do you believe it?

I thought that 2009 was a worse year for SBSP, but 2010 lacks anything good for the show.
Oh yeah, I was gonna mention this but I forgot to

Yeah, IMO Season 6 was worse, since that was not only when the worst two seasons started, but also the era where the ahow became hated and all the problems that happened eith the spongebob community and the pre-movie is the only good part stuff and so on started. Plus, episodes like Pet or Pests and The Splinter

I think I might start rating SpongeBob’s years, that’d be interesting.

...and how does this have anything to do with the topic at hand?
Not exactly, but other acclaimed shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show were also being noticed, which in turn made SpongeBob look not just bad, but outdated.

2010 was essentially an abysmal year for the series. The series was at it's low point, currently airing what is regarded as one of the two worst seasons of the series. 2010 happened to be the unfortunate year in which the absolute worst of Season 7 spewed out constantly, with the Season 6 finale (An absolutely horrendous episode, mind you) also airing as a "special". If you wanna look at the technical side of the series, 2010 isn't really the worst as Season 8 was in production that year, which had an overall step in the right direction when it comes to it's overall quality. Still, 2010 happened to air a good chunk of the series' absolute worst episodes.

Also, I think the whole 9/11 anniversary argument is completely invalid. Yes, YM&M premiered on the anniversary of 9/11, but that's completely irrelevant. Kracked Krabs also premiered on 9/11/10 as well, but that's a pretty mediocre episode, not an awful one. 9/11 is just a date. A date that happened to have one of the worst disasters in our country's history, but aside from maybe Benghazi, all subsequent 9/11's have been perfectly fine days.
