Idk what you're smoking but spongebob has never won an Emmy. The only awards it wins a lot of are kids choice awards. Which practically mean nothing

I was hoping they'd nominate some terrible episode like Sportz or Pat the Horse.

I mean seriously, even when they get nominated it's usually one of the worst episodes of that year.

And the times it does get nominated it's always a joke, anyone remember Company Picnic of all episodes being nominated for a "serious" award show?

These award ceremonies are mostly popularity contests, which SpongeBob doesn’t need to be part of since he’s already incredibly popular.

How? A lot of the stuff nominated aren't even shows that are really popular.

Yeah I know popular shows do get nominated, but I still don't get employee's point. They seem to judge fairly and a bunch of things from many companies get nominated, so how is it a popularity contest?

I’m not dumping on the Emmys specifically, I’ve just always found award shows to be trivial. I get that movies and shows earning trophies is a sign of achievement to the producers of said works, but to me all it says is “this movie/show was liked by 10 critics who sat around a table, who strive to see SpongeBob on the same merit as Birdman”.

I see the appeal of Annies, Emmies, Oscars and Golden Globes etc, but it’s not something I’d make a big deal out of.

Speaking of KCA's, guess who won again this year? (Noticed The Simpsons was nominated for the first time in a few years).

How many kids watch The Simpsons?

The families of FOX employees who’re required to keep their TVs on overnight so the shows acquire empty ratings.

I saw the video on my Twitter timeline. Absolutely heartwarming.

Here's another tweet with a picture of the whole SpongeBob crew from Season 11 (and even 12!) after the Emmy win.
