Never had a phone permanently, never will, though before touchscreen smartphones dominated the market, I thought flip-phones looked pretty snazzy. However, I bet if designed poorly, the screen would suffer from wear and tear by having to slam into the keyboard so many times.

Yes, I happen to own one for a couple years around 2010 to 2012 or so. It was my oldest sister's from the late-2000's, which was passed to me for texting and calling purposes. Smartphones are better and easier to call and text, and you can go online, which I usually use the other two for. At the moment, I sometimes I use my phone to go online and listen to music because my phone won't let me call or text anyone, for some odd reason. I'm waiting for a new phone.

Of all the phones I've owned in the last seven/eight years, a flip phone was probably my third or fourth phone once my second touchscreen phone broke (my first was also a touchscreen, so...).

Never really got used to my flip phone, honestly. I prefer to be more hands-on with my phone, and touchscreen phones provide that satisfaction,

I had a flip phone from 2010 to 2011. Yeah, I got my first phone when I was 11, don't kill me. I only used the flip phone to make phone calls after gymnastics practice or staying after school to do stuff. I switched to a smartphone (iPhone 3gs) in 2012 and had the same phone for about a year. In 2013, I got an iPhone 4s that I used quite often, and I kept it until the latter half of 2014, when I got a Galaxy s4. I had the s4 until October 2016, when I switched to a ZTE phone. I know that ZTEs are not as good as Samsungs, but hey, it's a smartphone.

I had an LG Chocolate 2 as my first phone, and then I switched to an LG Octane (Both hand-me-downs from my parents). My first smartphone was an LG Transpyre, then I switched to a Galaxy S3 with more storage as another hand-me-down, when my mom got an S6. Right now, I have an LG K20 V.

I never had one, but my dad did. I used to use it to play games and get online before I had a phone.

I had one back in middle school, but I never really used it for anything other than calling my parents.

I think flip-phones still look pretty cool... maybe it's nostalgia. Why don't do have a phone permanently?

Me and my parents agree that I’ve never really needed one. The longest-term phone I had was a calling watch I had for a few months last year, but it ran out of battery. It seemed to be about the tenth of the price of an Apple Watch, but it was neat all the same.

My parents had their own flip-phone back in the early 2010's. My father had a small gray Samsung flip-phone, whily my mother had the exact same one, except it was red. The flip-phones had the same tools, applications, options, etc. But like I said, they were exactly identical to each other, so I was already familiar with both of them. They let me play games on their phone, but they were only two: Sudoku and a jewel game. They don't have flip-phones anymore, since they got broken and they have their own smartphones. I didn't really have an actual phone until I was 16. I had to share a different phone with my parents when I was 15, so I technically don't count that as my own phone. My dad is currently using that smartphone.

I see. You might want to get a phone permanently though, what if you needed to make an emergency call or just an important call to someone if you're not at home?

I remember back in 2006 that you were one of the cool kids if you had the Motorola RAZR phone. And if you're a girl and you got the hot pink color, then you were really beyond cool haha
