One entire month to a holiday is more than enough, people who stretch it into another make me convinced I'm already dead and am paying for all of my earthly sins for the rest of eternity.

I'm not sure if our British friends can corroborate this, but when I lived in England almost ten years ago, Thanksgiving wasn't a national holiday like it is in America. Obviously, American ex-pats & students abroad like myself celebrated it in our own way, but we essentially had a two-month lead into Christmas. Which didn't upset me much. I love the holiday cheer. :)

But if you want to get technical, the Christmas season starts with the beginning of Advent. Black Friday is a perversion of the Christmas spirit, in my book.

The BBC don't air ads, so it won't air there.

It premiered yesterday during Gogglebox, and will probably air again tonight during The X Factor.

Oh, darn. I don't watch The X Factor. But I do watch ITV in general, so I'm sure I will see at least one next week.
(And yes, it's true the BBC don't air ads. I forgot about that, lol)

We haven't even had Thanksgiving yet....

On some years, the first day of Hanukkah falls on the same day as the American version of Thanksgiving.

Hanukkah is celebrated on eight days of the months of November and December.

The Canadian version of Thanksgiving was celebrated in October.
