Because why not? To show that I REALLY love the series, and that I love many of the episodes, I made a list. If you disagree with any of my opinions, that's fine with me (I know a few will be controversial, keep that in mind).

Here are some of my honorable mentions:
Help Wanted: The one that started it all. Doesn't get any more complicated than that.
Bubblestand: Another fun episode to watch, don't have too much to say about it.
Mermaidman and Barnacleboy: Great 1st appearance of 2 legendary superheroes , but not their strongest roles yet.
Culture Shock: The beginning was slow, but it gets better from there. Love the idea of having a talent show
Arrgh!: Another fun episode to watch, great to watch on "Talk like a Pirate Day" (or anyday)
Big Pink Loser: Don't have too much to say on this one, but another charming, and even emotional, eppy.
Welcome to the Chum Bucket: Talk about going from emotion to laughing!
Clams: Love the parody of "Jaws" here, even with that title card. I would totally wear coral blue lipstick when I go fishing.
Skill Crane: Very funny episode (take note that I LOVE skill cranes), I can totally relate to Squidward here since those skill crane machines are RIGGED.
Suction Cup Symphony: Even if it's more silly than humorous, the symphony was just so interesting.
Planet of the Jellyfish: Creepy, but in a way that makes me more attracted to watching.
It's a SpongeBob Christmas!: Although cheesy, the humor makes up for it and the claymation is kinda cute.
Food Con Castaways: Humor is on point, even if the plot isn't exactly how I expected it.

IT'S TIME FOR THE MOMENT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

Season: 9
198b

Plot: Plankton clones SpongeBob so he could steal (you guessed it!) the Krabby Patty Secret Formula, but the copies fade, thus ruining Plankton's plans.

Why it deserves to be in the Top 50:
This episode’s plot may not seem very promising at first because Plankton attempting to steal the secret formula isn’t anything new, but they executed it in a way that makes it funny. The party scene at the beginning is very well animated, it’s like something that looks cinematic in a way. I really liked the part where each copy becomes more naive as the episode keeps going (naive in a way that feels somewhat like his pre-movie self, very likeable). There was some emotion toward the end where the copies fade, get rolled up like burritos, and disappear, making SpongeBob sad, and even giving me some sympathy to the little square dude. There’s just something about it that pulled on my heartstrings. Plankton was also at one of his finest appearances yet, both in humor and in character.
I just can’t help but LOVE Squidward’s subplot where he thinks that he was dreaming and tries to fly. What a nice change from his usual, grumpy self. When he thinks that he is in a dream, he believes that he can do anything he wants, so he attempts to fly, believing that the dream isn’t reality. I don’t really have that much to say about this episode. To sum up, it’s a fun episode to watch that is on par with pre-movie humor and likeable characters. In a way, it feels that it will feel right at home with season 2 episodes. It's that good! There wasn't any dull, gross, or cruel moments here, just a well written episode with plenty of memorable moments.

Best character: Squidward
Best moment: The ending.
Best quote: “Right on my keys” -Plankton

Hint for 49: The episode where this emote is from: :bdayplank:

Plot: Plankton uses mind control on SpongeBob to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula, but fails when he falls into the analyzer thing.

Why it deserves to be in the Top 50: This episode can be summed up as a fine appearance of one of our major villains in the series (hence, Plankton! is aptly titled here). Even though I have watched this episode at least 30+ times in my life, it never fails to entertain me, it doesn't get boring after rewatching, and the jokes still make me laugh, even after a decade. The plot shows promise here because it's fairly complicated plot, but at the same time it is rather simple. From the start, the episode just gets better and better, from SpongeBob making the Krabby Patty, to the Patty bouncing around (giving us the first appearance of you-know-who), to Plankton giving SpongeBob a golden spatula, to the main point of the episode where Plankton controls SpongeBob. There's always something of interest happening in this episode, never a dull moment. I can already tell that there is A LOT of character development just in this one episode. And I gotta say that there is a whole lot of great jokes in this episode (i'll reveal my favorite further down), many of them clever. Not to mention, SpongeBob calling Squidward out as a mediocre clarinet player is just genius (well, it is Plankton controlling SB, so...), enough for me to call this joke a classic. It's just like this episode is trying to entertain us in almost any way possible, with both a plot that has depth and the gags. I can't list EVERY single golden quote, so i'll just list a few of my favorites:
"I guess I'm not wearing any pants today" -SpongeBob
"Your snivelly creations are worth less than a protozoan's waste" -Plankton
"This is my lab!" -Plankton
"Plankton: 1% Evil, 99% Hot Gas" -Prototype of Karen

"I'll settle for some fries" -Plankton

What else to I really have to say? It's just a captivating eppy that has our tiny little villain make a fantastic first impression. It's THAT good! It's an underrated gem that is totally worth watching again and again. My only nitpick is that it some scenes where SpongeBob is getting controlled by Plankton made me uncomfortable, enough that it left a weird taste in my mouth, so that's why it gets a low spot on the list. (yeah, I tend to be nitpicky at times)

Favorite Character: Plankton
Favorite Moment: The record playing a kid's song (letters of the alphabet A, B, C.). It's mah jam.

Hint for #48: Squilliam appears in this episode while Squidward doesn't.

While it isn't my favourite Plankton-centered episode it is still really solid and a good introductory episode to the one-eyed menace and is the next one Back to the Past? I recall him getting a cameo in that episode

Good luck in completing this, as so I've heard not many members have completed long lists. Anyways I think #48 will be Back to the Past

Plot: MM&BB warn SpongeBob and Patrick not to touch anything, but Pat didn't listen, thus causing problems in the future.

Why it deserves to be in the top 50: Let's just say that this episode is like the love child of MM&BB III and SB-129. This episode is one of those episodes with controversial opinions. Some people REALLY love this episode, while others hate it. Some people didn't like Pat in this episode, while others were not bothered by him one bit. Upon viewing this episode, I can see why some people thought Patrick was OOC, but I thought that he was actually pretty good in this episode, some of the humor reminds me of the earlier seasons. It's just that silly/crazy little details that make it so great, from the overly long restaurant name (The designated Area where you are Permitted by your ruler, Manray, to obtain Sandwiches using Manray Dollars),there's a reason why I laugh really hard at that joke. Just imagine a restaurant in your town had that long of a name. Manray is easily one of my favorite villains in the series, he's just so hammy and funny despite him acting oh-so-evil. This episode proves that he is such a developed character. Young MM and BB are just so....interesting, and not to mention, maybe even kinda....hot. (don't judge me) But the best part is definitely that ending. That ending is one of the craziest/silliest that I have ever seen. It's stupid, but in a way that it's just so funny. I LOVE all the time machines appearing out of nowhere, it was just so random and felt just like something that would perfectly fit in a pre-movie episode. Even if the middle was a bit slow for me, the humor and all the silly gags just make it into the top 50.

Hint for #47: Has one of the catchiest songs in SpongeBob in here.
