Vomit Boy
So back in season 7, we had the Legends of Bikini Bottom anthology.

In season 8, we had the whole characters going on vacations.

You know what I want to see in the near future? Alternate Universe's! I mean think about it, it could create some of the most creative stories! Concepts that the show hasn't used, yet! It would be freaking awesome! Imagine the line-ups!

Gender-Bent Episode (Gender alterations. Guys are girls, girls are guys.)

Mike Dubisch is the guy who drew this, I presume?

Bear in mind, I'm not suggesting these AU ideas as spin-offs, just one-off episodes.

I know this whole thing sounds a little fanficky and out of reach, but think about it. This show has been going on for 17 years, now. It's had 2 different episodes where the entire story revolves around SpongeBob changing his pants, and every joke comes from the idea that it makes him a different person. 35% (not calculated, yet conservative estimation) of the new episodes revolves around the same plot of Plankton stealing the formula.

Call me crazy, but I'm getting the vibe that the show might be starting to run out of ideas.

That's why I want the show to do crazy stuff like these AU ideas. It needs to do more crazy things, think out of the box, and keep the show fresh. I think doing an episode based on just one of these ideas could really re-ignite the spark that's been gone for a while, now.

What crazy, AU ideas that you'd want to see the show do?

Now I don't think the writers are running out of ideas at all. Yeah, we got an episode about SpongeBob changing his pants again and Plankton stealing formula still comes very often (however, that happens on pre-movie as well If you think about it). We still get some really sweet and unused ideas for this show like Patrick creating his own game or Larry starting his own gym or Mr. Krabs helping SpongeBob to drive. Characters are starting to be used in different situations (still fitting their character) like Mr. Krabs going to gym cuz it's free (it's actually a pretty amusing gag If you think about it). ven less-used characters are getting more attention; Larry has been used twice in season 9.2 (even better, he got his own episode) and Pearl is getting her own episode soon. To make things even more interesting, one-time characters we got are pretty fun and they add a whole new charm to the show. So I'd say the show is not out of ideas yet, I think the current crew really try their best to get original material and If you ask me, season 7-8 was pretty much the point of post-movie writers really starting to run out of ideas and start to reharsh episodes (sometimes it was handled well, sometimes not), so it was nice to get new people to join the crew and come up with different material (not knocking off post-movie writers of course, they work in better places now imo). I don't think the show is really ready to get alternative universe episodes yet. Even if it got some, it'd be completely bizzare and cheesy it won't be that much fun imo.

Some of these sound like ideas that Gumball or TTG! would use :P

I like the concept, but for a show like SpongeBob to be using it rather than Gumball or TTG, it might be a little bit unusual. Nonetheless, I still like the idea, pretty unique.

I think it would make the most sense and be the most fun to have a nature documentary. They've already done it in small scenes with the French Narrator. The show's creator already tailored the show to intelligently incorporate biological fun to the show. And they've more than proved they can play off the environment and just flat-out make fun of how bizarre it is. It'd be fun. Could even be the next Krusty Krab Training Video.

I know some of these might have been done before in a way (Goo Goo Gas and The Slumber Party/That's No Lady), but I wouldn't mind some of these. A great concept for the third mini-series topic I made a little bit ago.

A realistic episode has a ton of potential for good jokes, like they could have a sorta basic plot revolving around the characters, and in the mean time the narrator could be trying to describe what's going on in a Jacques Cousteau-type nature show.

Another alt universe they could do is one where the characters all gather in SpongeBob's house to to watch a show about Patchy, and they'd be his biggest fans.

I lile this idea better than the ones suggested (no offense SpongeRoadie :p).

Like, ww got an episode where Patchy have wacky hijinks around Encino, while there's occasional SpongeBob scenes that are played out like Patchy scenes.
