I think this episode is very underrated I don't get why fans find it so bad I think it's just a normal season 4 episode

Ps: hating this episode for being number one on the countdown is just unfair and dumb

"What's so bad about _____?" topic again. Ok, we don't need topics like this everytime. From what I remember, there's already "overhated episodes" topic, you could just say that there.

I don't think this episode is bad but I personally think it wasted a lot of potential. It could have been a really awesome episode with really amazing karate scenes but it was just boring and humorless. It's far away from the worst episode imo thom

We can usually discuss this in the "Episode Discussion" section, but nevermind.

I think the episode is kinda bad, but it is still overhated.

I...actually like this episode. Sure, the karate scenes could have been wayyyy better, but I liked how it executes some of the jokes and I didn't mind Spongebob being OOC.

Meh, it's not great. The karate scenes could have involved more karate, and it just wasn't very exciting. One thing that bugs me in particular is how the intended age group for this show probably wouldn't even understand a lot of the ending. It seemed to be directed more towards adults, and when an episode of a kids' show ends in humor they wouldn't get, it becomes very forgettable.

I wouldn't call this episode underrated but it also shouldn't be hated just for getting the #1 spot in a countdown. Mostly I just find it boring and the karate scenes were lackluster.

There's literally nothing wrong with it beyond extremely outdated hype fatigue that stemmed a few stupid excuses later on. It's a really good episode as far as I'm concerned.

I think it's a good episodes but you posted similar topics like this at least 2 other times, try moving it to the unpopular SpongeBob Opinions.

it's a good episode and i really enjoy it.

i don't believe that spongebob is ooc here either. he tends to act that way with sandy fairly often throughout the series. i mean, just look at "pressure"!!!!

Remembering this episode, it had a nice idea, but it wasn't executed the best. It felt kind of formulatic in Sandy having to rescue Spongebob, and it felt kind of repetitive seeing Sandy going up several floors in an idea bin of to-be villains. (Plus, the Chapped Lips gag was kind of wince-worthy.) The ending was also kind of lame and anti-climactic. Well, at least it had two dirty jokes (French Tickler, Pen mistaken for a gun) and a shoutout to a shoutout (Forgot exactly, see TvTropes' Spongebob/Shoutout page).
