it's been so long since i've seen so many of these shows that honestly making a top 10 would be really tough. worldgirl holds up pretty nicely, though. i mean, how do you beat "chuck the evil sandwich-making guy"

I don't have a top 10, but I liked Clifford, Dragon Tales, Mister Rogers, Sesame Street, and Arthur is #1.

Why exactly is our tax money being spent to fund this? -_-
It used to be so kids who couldn't afford the educational cable shows and other expensive educational materials could have a fun, free way to learn, but now nobody uses the broadcast stations so I don't know.

I used to watch Arthur, Clifford, Dragon Tales and Sesame Street as a very young baby. I haven't watched these shows for over a decade now. I also remembered that I had a giant Clifford plush when I was 5 years old. I don't have it anymore, because our family moved a lot and I haven't had it since then. However, I focused way too much on the mainstream channels as a kid, rather than PBS.

Oh, yes. The reason I'll always defend funding PBS is that they at least have some kind of quality control when it comes to what children's programming they'll put on the air.

1. Arthur
2. Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman
3. Reading Rainbow
4. The Berenstain Bears
5. Jay Jay the Jet Plane (my first words were "Jay Jay Jet Plane")
6. Between the Lions
7. The Magic School Bus
8. Clifford the Big Red Dog
9. Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks
10. Redwall

Yeah, could only come up with 5. Super Why! was a pretty creative show, and I really liked it. Mister Roger's is one I hardly watched, but it's still a classic nonetheless. How can you not put Sesame Street on the list? It's a cultural icon, and has some of the best Muppets out there (Cookie Monster, The Count, etc.). WordGirl is a show I used to love. It still sticks with me after all these years, and was a very solid show. Also, Chuck the Evil Sandwich Making Guy rules!

Number 1 is definitely Curious George. Surprised this show was hardly mentioned on this thread. It's first few Seasons were awesome, and it kind of lost steam once the girl was introduced, and seemed to take up plenty of space. Not to mention, there's actually some genuinely funny jokes in this show. "A Doorman's uniform is as important as his door!"
