What do you think will happen if SpongeBob did got hit by the truck in Pizza Delivery
 
He would keep living, as a zombie, like the show.

If it did, the truck would probably hit SpongeBob and the truck would probably fly all the way to Canada or something since he's absorbent. But it could be vice versa too.
 
He had a flying ice cream truck fall on him, I think he'll be fine.
 
Here's my theory

* Spongebob dies
* Squidward is racked with guilt
* Squidward picks up the body and somehow manages to get back to Bikini Bottom
* Spongebob's parents sue Squidward for damages
* Krabs holds Squidward responsible
* Squidward is fired
* Krabs hires teenagers
* Squidward goes to jail
* Squidward feels unfathomable guilt for the rest of his life
 
If Spongebob actually died in that episode, that would be pretty dark for a kid's show. :(

to be fair, this also the show in which Krabs desecrated a man's grave and later his corpse

not to mention the episode where Krabs and Spongebob brutalize a man's unconscious body and nearly bury him alive

and that was in a pre-movie episode

He also survived the effects of the atomic blast at the end of "Dying for Pie" with no apparent ill effects.
