Sweden is confirmed to exist because Squidward is seen holding a can of Swedish barnacle balls in The Camping Episode. The United States is also confirmed to exist because SpongeBob and Patrick took a picture with Squidward on the Fourth of July in Breath of Fresh Squidward. Are there any other countries that the show has acknowledged?

Technically, Texas.
Right! Technically speaking, the mention of Texas counts as a mention of the United States.

Germany because of Sold! where Squidward says there is a German family

I'm pretty sure that the family was based on an Austrian family though
Yes! I forgot about that, but thanks for reminding me. I don't think I would count Austria as canon, since the family is intended to be German, even though they seem Austrian. Speaking of which, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0H64XUtsS8

Hawaii (which is technically part of the US), considering how much of its culture went into the visual style of the show, and France considering the occasional French stereotype, eg Le Big Switch.

Scotland, since Sandy has a Scottish relative.
Hm, that might count. The character is very clearly Scottish, but that's not really the same as a character mentioning a country, language, or nationality.

Once again, I'm not sure if it really counts for something to be similar to a culture, and yet not explicitly mention the country, nationality, or language. It might count, but it's debatable.

Middle eastern countries such as Iraq and Syria are canon to SpongeBob.

I have proof too, with an official picture of SpongeBob as leader of terrorist group ISIS.

Why do you need an explicit mention of the country? We are smarter than this; we should be able to detect which countries exist based on the cultures represented in the show. My point being that both Scotland and France are rightfully canon in the show.

By extension, you could also include the United Kingdom based on the Scotland ordeal, since Scotland is a part of it. But...I don't know how far you really wanna go with that...

Italy because of ''Spongicus'' and I guess Ancient Greece/Greece because of ''Trident Trouble'',

IDK if Spongebob even HAS a canon

idk this topic is just freaking stupid

have we really ran out of topics for spongebob
Kinda rude. IMO this is kinda interesting.

- SpongeBob and Sandy know karate, so we know Japan exists
- The movie had a mariachi band, so Mexico's also canon
- There was that one British fish in Extreme Spots and Squidward has a Big Ben wrist watch in one episode, so there's England.

UNITED KINGDOM

Edit: This map is also wrong, only Northern Ireland is in the UK

How 'bout Portugal? After SpongeBob sends all the letters to Santa up up and away in "Christmas Who?", a fish says that he hopes Santa can read Portugese.
