On a cold and snowy night like tonight... there's no better
Tom and Jerry short to watch than "Snowbody Loves Me" (1964).
This has always been my favorite Chuck Jones-era short, and it's in my top 5 favorite
T&J shorts overall. It's a shame that nobody really recognizes it, because it's a beautiful short from a relatively forgotten era. From the lively animation, to the beautiful backgrounds, to just the overall concept... everything's really brilliantly done.
And did I mention the music too? It easily rivals "The Cat Concerto" and the other legendary
T&J musical shorts. The entire short's music composition is based on arrangements of Frédéric Chopin's works. The music adds so much to the charm of this short, I could watch it just for the music alone.
If you haven't watched it, I highly suggest you do right now. But you've probably have at least seen parts of it before, because this short is where the "Cheese Backrooms" came from. It's so beautiful.
