The Monitors - "Singing In The Eighties" (1980)

"Singing In The Eighties," which was an Australian pop song where the singer is lamenting about the death of disco music and the rise of rock 'n roll in 1979, was Australia's answer to the UK's "Video Killed The Radio Star" by the Buggles (1979), a song where the singer is lamenting about the death of radio in the distant future, when music videos became mainstream, which was fitting, because that was the first music video to air on MTV in the US upon that cable TV network's debut in 1981.
