This topic is mainly to post opinions that contrast the general public's opinions on certain aspects of the show or individual episodes. Some of mine include:

Season 9 is definitely an improvement over past seasons, with plenty of very good episodes and with the bad episodes (barring SBYF and Squid Baby) not being that bad much of the time. (Well this opinion surely got extremely un-popular in retrospect. Am I like the only person who likes 9a anymore? It's no 9b or even 11 but it's a clear improvement over anything prior)

I'm not going to hate an episode just because a small portion of it is bad. With something like House Fancy, I still consider it a bad episode, but for the reason that it has a very bland start of Squilliam bragging, followed by SpongeBob's actions being bothersome and Squidward winning for the wrong reasons. This even applies to episode endings like "Nautical Novice."

Oral Report was one of the better season 8 episodes. But it's not great. The only ones from that season I love or even remember are Hello Bikini Bottom and Frozen Face-Off.

Artist Unknown is one of my least favorite pre-movie episodes. But even then, it's like, almost a 7/10. Pre-Movie is pretty much perfect. :p

... and some other stuff I'll post later.

I find one coarse meal better than SpongeBob, you're fired. I prefer little yellow book over fools in april. I dislike help wanted. I think the cel animated style from SpongeBob season 1 fit the show more than the digital ink and paint. I like the card. I was excited for SpongeBob, you're fired until I actually seen the episode. I find the chaperone better than scaredy pants.

i legitimately liked kracked krabs, party pooper pants and bumper to bumper.

party pooper pants > dunces and dragons

i didn't like the camping episode.

i hate club spongebob.

i REALLY hope spandy never becomes canon.

krusty krab training video and dunces and dragons are overrated. (i still like them, but not as much as most people do.)

Artist Unknown is an amazing episode that people seem to hate for the dumbest reason.
^THIS THIS THIS

-Chocolate WIth nuts is overrated
-KKTV is very overrated and has grown rather old
-I love Pineapple Fever very much
-I'm sick of hearing about how Season 3 is the best season of SpongeBob all the time... it's probably my least favorite pre-movie season at this point

I thought I was the only one <3

I'm not a fan of Squilliam. He's just the typical, snooty rival and there's nothing that entertaining about him IMO.

I don't like the striped sweater song from As Seen on TV. SpongeBob has had better songs than that one.

All episodes have at least some redeeming qualities to them. I think Squid Baby is the only one where I'd almost say it has absolutely nothing going for it and is just all bad, but I gotta give it credit for the "my leg" joke. So, every single episode has something good in it and all of them are worth watching.

Also, Patrick is still really funny and not a jerk.

"SpongeBob Meets the Strangler" is one the funniest episodes ever hands down, more so than a lot of the most famous episodes of the show but doesn't get talked about enough.
i never thought that was an unpopular opinion, since i also love that episode...

I never liked Pearl that much and she became annoying later on really.
When was this "unpopular" exactly?

Culture Shock would've been better if it wasn't for the stupid ending.
Thank you I thought I was alone on this as well! Squidward's dancing while not great, was very entertaining with how weird it was to the least.

Unpopular opinions *I* have that no one else shares? Well:

* Post movie SB doesn't suck. At all.
* Season 6 isn't even half bad.
* Mrs. Puff can kiss mine (I do not like Mrs. Puff; I'm sorry, but she drives me nuts... I despise her - can't explain why, but she rubs me wrong.)
* The Toenail scene in House Fancy wasn't that bad.
* Squilliam is totally, 100%, undeniably gay and has it SO bad for Squidward - it seems canon to me (Not saying that Canon Squidward has anything for Squilliam, just saying that it seems so obvious that Squilliam has it bad for Squidward).
*Pearl is actually pretty cool. - Yeah, she's a stereotypical teen, but I find her so funny. (And to think, she'd have been exactly the type of teen girl that I, as a teen, would have just shaken my head at going "Stuck up beeyotch think's she's all that... ugh! OMG, who cares what brand of trendy shoes she has?? Gag..." ;) As an adult, I just laugh and go 'OMG, I'm so glad I never subscribed into the typical teen-girl thing, even as a teen. She's everything I never wanted to be as a teen.'
* I like Spandy.(Either friendship or romantic, I don't care - but I like it when, regardless of which it is, that it makes sense, that both characters are written IN character and that the relationship goes slow and deals with the obvious issues of air-breather + water breather... which means that I did read a romantic Spandy that was well-done and I enjoyed the fanfic.. but I'm perfectly fine with SB and Sandy JUST being close friends without a relationship - I love both. I adore their canon friendship.)
* I don't hate many so-called Squid-Abuse episodes. I'm well-aware that in many cases he deserves it. For one thing, Squidward is SO easily baited. He thinks he's smarter than everyone, yet he can be baited right into his demise. So I'm very strict about what counts as "Squid-Abuse"... I consider "Cephalopod Lodge" to be unfair to him, that was nasty, he didn't deserve anything there. Any episode with Squilliam, he lets himself be baited by Squilliam (Why not just hang up the phone and laugh at his rival? Why be baited by a highschool rival? Why couldn't he just, for example in Squilliam Returns, just say "Yeah... catch you later... maybe I'll visit you in your balloon casino sometime - Oh, wait! I don't gamble! Hahahaha!" and walk away, living Squilliam to do his 'Gasp!' whatever thing. Also, he hates his job, he hates his neighbours? Why not quit? Okay, I guess he keeps that job because it pays and he has some influence there, fine... seems not to be many other options in BB for him; then why not move away from his neighbours? I guess I can even kind of understand this one - also, where to? It's not clear how many vacancies are available and Squidward is likely very comfortable with where he's at (It's perhaps an introverted person thing, or not liking change/moving)... he did move once, and that totally didn't work out. You just settle down somewhere and like the familarity. Also, every measure he's taken against his neighbours, to ensure his own peace, has never worked out. And it's clear that, somehow, he does like SB. Maybe SB reminds him of what it was like to be younger, positive and everything, but it seems clear he likes SB, so perhaps just because he enjoys a bit of that - when SB and Pat aren't driving him up the wall - and is kind of resolved to just living with it.

(Sorry, I went off a bit... I've always said that Squidward is my fave character, even though I think most people think I love Squilliam more by now, I don't. I feel so very close to Squidward, that is, I can really relate to Squidward... he's got that mix, balance... I can't explain it, this person who is an adult, yet isn't happy and is frustrated by everyone around him, to the point that you feel like you are literally the only sane person, I think he likes SB because SB is that sweet honest, annoying, childlike person - drives you nuts, but you also kinda wish you could be so carefree and optimistic, but you can't... Squidward's shown me that type of complexitiy... the adult trying to be the responsible adult doing and enjoying adult things, yet also easily giving into childish pleasures, because he's not in touch with his inner child anymore and SB shows him that.)

Aaaand apparently b- y- o -t - ch is filtered...I was trying to say it nicely, but the nice versions, alternative spellings, are filtered here.

I wouldn't go as far as saying they're all worth watching (I'm pretty anal about tv/movies and it being worth my time) but to say that an episode is nothing but awful+awful is unrealistic.

This is probably the only one wehre I almost agree with everything...
Mrs. Puff I'm very neutral on. I do think she looks like Pizza.
Pearl has grown on me over the months... I think she can actually be really funny and quirky in her own way xP
I think post-movie is worse but it's certainly not godawful
people need to stfu about the toenail scene and Squid Abuse....... OMG
