Meh. If it comes out I'll see it, but I don't need or want one. But if it does come out, I have a great idea:

THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE 3: DOING SPONGEBOB

SpongeBob Movie 3: The Talking Babies

SpongeBob and the gang come back to the surface to an orphanage to see how many babies call him "SpangeBahb"

But really, after a few more seasons, if ratings go higher and Steve comes up with another brilliant idea, I'd love another movie. This one was definately worth a year long hiatus.

like FOP or maybe something classic like a Rugrats revival movie
EITHER ONE OF THOSE WOULD BE AMAZING, BUT IF THERE WAS A RUGRATS MOVIE, I'D CRY FOR 2 DAYS AND THEN SEE IT OVER 5 TIMES <3 <3 <3 <3

I was thinking about this last night. I want Sponge Out of Water to kick butt at the box office, obviously, but I'm actually kind of scared that it might do so well that Paramount insists on a third movie ASAP. That's not the way I would want a third movie to happen. If the SpongeBob creative team decide that the time is right and are excited to go ahead with a movie like they were with SOoW, then sure, I would have confidence in it. But if it's a decision foisted on them by Paramount executives then there's no way it would end well quality-wise.

TL;DR
Maybe a third movie eventually (5-6 years in the future minimum), but ONLY if it's something that Hillenburg, Tibbitt etc actually want to do.

"The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water 2: Sponge in Manhattan" = NO THANKS.

A third movie? Maybe as a final like the 1st movie was supposed to be, you know to wrap things up? But not one out of the blue that they'd be forced to make for a little extra cash. Another 10 years maybe, if they can keep it going that long.

Looks like Paramount would like a third ...

"In the U.S., the movie definitely has multigenerational appeal. It did a lot of business at night. And overseas, you can see how much the brand has grown," said Paramount vice chairman Rob Moore. SpongeBob opened in a handful of markets last weekend, including Mexico, where its total take compares to $3.5 million all in for SquarePants. And in Brazil, the sequel has grossed $4.6 million.

"Hopefully, it won't take 10 years to make another film," Moore said.

Maybe in a couple of years, but maybe as a finale or something, I'd rather they focus on the series because I don't want another year-long hiatus anytime soon

I'll watch a third movie nevertheless though, should they decide to make one

No big surprise there since we've seen how much money it's already making. Let's just hope Steve Hillenburg and Paul Tibbit already have an idea they want to do. I'm also hoping that with them adding so many new people to the crew that they can manage to have a big enough amount of people working on the show to keep it running and then get other's to work on the third movie, that way both can continue. :)

I doubt they'd do one as a finale, as SpongeBob appears to be Nick's "Most Valuable Property" these days.

That way, no hiatus. :)

All things come to an end. Sure, maybe it will still be going when we're old folks sitting in our rocking chairs wheezing out a laugh or two at Spongebob's shenanigans. But it will end one day, and I hope it's the best darn ending to a cartoon we've ever seen.

I'm still hoping for those jazz hands.

I would yes. But not immediately, maybe in another ten year or something. A lot could change in 10 year. Who knows? Maybe the thired movie could be considered a smash hit in the future.

Your mom is irrational.

I woud love it if they made a new film, but with better music, not as overstuffed and a better sense of adventure. I liked the movie, but those were the main problems. If Stephen Hillenburg is returning and there is a third movie, maybe he could direct...
